Really having trouble getting good money saving advice from this thread, cannot find car4lessholidayautos using Google!
Tried https://www.economycarhire.com. but they were nearly double the Hertz price!!!
So where to go for cheap car hire? We want a car from Aug 25th till Sept 6th pick up and drop off from Stansted airport.0 -
I doubt you'll find 'cheap' at Stansted in peak time, what's the cheapest you have found so far?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Hertz came in at just under £200 for a Corsa.0

I just passed my test, but dont have access to a car. I want to hire a car in London, and just drive locally - to practise.
Any advice, as some of the car clubs demand 2 years licence? Most of the article was about holiday car hire.
Thanks0 -
Anyone know how much different companies charge you for the deposit on your card upon collecting the car?
I've used different companies in the past in France and once been charged £1000 on my card - where they hold the money but don't take it and then I've also used National Citer in Biarritz where they only took 1 euro!!
I'm looking to hire a car at the end of September in Marseille for 15 days and National Citer are quoting much, much higher than anyone else. Can anyone help?? I don't want to lose loads of spending money on my credit card.
Many thanks0 -
carhiredetective.com always shows the cheapest for me, includes CDW, taxes and suchlike.... really great customer service too if you need to upgrade or change booking.0

I hire cars in Europe regularly and twice recently when I have hired a car the price is quoted in sterling and yet I am being billed in Euro. Both companies were based in Eire one was 121 car hire can't remember the name of the other. Does anyone know why they do this? Is it legal? Seems very odd to me.0

I'd like to recommend ebookers.com for car hire in the US with Alamo, especially if you're looking for one-way rental.
I've just returned from the states and hired a large SUV for £380 for 9 days, and a mid-size for £50 for 2 days. Both were one-way rentals (Portland, OR to Los Angeles and LA to Las Vegas) which usually means $300-500 extra, but there was no one-way charge made.
Anyway if you're going to the states especially one-way, take a look.0
