i bought my son a psp for christmas from toyrus and he has done something and the screen is cracked will it be covered by any guarntee and if so will it be with toyrus or sony Please help as i have no money to replace it thanks
If he's caused the damage it won't be covered unless you have a warranty with accidental damage.
It may be worth looking to see if you are covered under your household insurance.

i think he may have dropped it but surely it should withstand that sort of stuff he has only had it 8 weeks and it been put away for 3 of them for him being cheeky0

You can always ask the retailer if they will do anything but don't hold your breath. If you've caused the damage you can't expect the retailer to suffer.

If he dropped it claim on your house incurance if you have accidental damage, if you crashed your car would you take it back to the garage and ask for a new one0 -
Bought a PS3 just over a year ago from Blockbuster Oct 07 to be more precise. Just yesterday the machine stopped reading any discs whatsoever. It seems this is a common problem judging by the thousands of hits on google. And it appears that up until recently, there were many cases of Sony fixing this problem, even out of warranty, as a gesture of goodwill. But I called them today and they weren't interested and most unhelpful - merely quoting me a standard repair charge of £99 without even looking at my machine and establishing the fault. I asked them about the sale of goods act but they said I should take that up with Blockbuster - which I guess is fair enough. But how successful could I be in getting this fixed for nothing? I personally think that a machine that costs me £350 (I still have the receipt and box) should last a lot longer than 15 months. Although I can't prove it, I have only used the machine for at most 2 hours a week when I watched a movie at the weekend. That doesn't add up to much actual usage at all

Sony is right, your complaint must be taken up with the retailer. Contact them and pont out the machine has an inherrent fault and you are rejecting it under the Sale of Goods Act as being unfit for purpose. Provide the evidence you have gleened from the internet about the problem.

Can anyone offer advice as to what is the best way to gather info from the net in a useful way other than stacks of printouts - as I would imagine, although many people talk about problems and "goodwill" gestures by Sony because of a seemingly known laser problem, it's all.....anecdotal I guess? Thanks0
