Hi, i recently looked at my credit report and have found that i have vast amounts of searches by companies i have never used although someone has used my name but mispelt it and address i have never heard of.
After reporting this to experian they have asked me to contact the creditors directly but no one seems to know who to direct me to or i just get ignored.
Am i right in thinking the details they hold could have been effecting my credit rating? Am i right in asking them to revoke the information? Also, i previously lived with a male friend, neither of us applied for any form of credit yet companies have searches as joint applications at our address?
Anyone out there can help would be gratefully appreciated.

Sounds like someone might be attempting a case of identity theft so be very careful.
I would initially write to the credit data companies and ask for their advice.

My friend bought a till from Makro in September. She still has the receipt. The draw has started to stick and the other day it just completely packed in.
She took it back to Makro and was told they only had a 28 day warranty and she now had to deal with the manufacturer.

But that's not what it says on the link above.
What shall she do?0 -

Makro is a trade warehouse that is only for business use, so sales of goods act wont apply will it as it is not a private sale ?
I would take a printout of the webpage you linked to and point out there return policy as the person you spoke to has got it wrong by the looks of it.0 -

I think I would be talking to Trading Standards on this on in the first instance.

For online companies I think its always worth looking at their T&C. I have found the best companies to deal with have just a few T&C and they actually tell you what your rights are. I have only seen a few companies do this. I have seen allot of companies who actually try and tell you things which are completely illegal. I have no idea how they get away with it but they do. No T&C can remove your legal rights. I never buy from companies who try and hide my rights as a consumer using cleaver phrases. Some of the big companies are the worst. What I have found is companies with simple T&C respond quickly without fuss(great service) and the ones with complicated T&C take ages and try to use as many tricks as possible to get out of things. My advice would be don't buy unless T&C is simple and fair. I am not sure if I can say this but My favourite companies include John Lewis and my least favorite is dixon group (dixons, currys, Pixmania, PC World).0

I bought a TV from Comet last June which has now developed a fault and won't switch on. I reported the fault and I had to wait a week for someone to come out to repair it, he couldn't make the repair as he needed to order parts. He returned a week later with parts, but still couldn't fix it. They returned 3 days later to take the TV away to the workshop. It has now been over 3 weeks since I first reported the fault and I have no idea when I will be getting it back.
I think I have given them plenty of time and opportunity to repair my TV, and I now just want a refund. Can anybody tell me what my rights are with regard to a refund?0 -

You are not entitled to a refund.
Write to their HO addressed to the CEO and point out the unsatisfactory service you have received and ask him to expedite the matter for you.
