Hello,
I bought a digital camera from Argos before Christmas, but no longer need it. It's in its original condition and I have the receipt, argos are saying that they won't accept a return. Can they do this?
Cheers,

Yes, its stated in the catalogue they dont accept returns on digital cameras under the 30 day returns policy, they dont legally have to take anything back unless faulty.0 -

Yes, it's outside their 30 day money back guarantee and the item isn't faulty so they have no obligation to accept it back.

Yes, that's the line to take. They are trying to remove your statutory rights which they cannot do. If the product is faulty they are obliged to offer a refund.

Firstly the post said there was no fault with the product but they felt the product was not as described at time of sale. Now the OP didnt say what the differance between what was advertised and what was actually bought but the sales of goods act gives you reasonable period of time to reject an item and i think where aldi are trying to say is the time period has now passed and it is assumed that you have accepted the goods by keeping them for more then a reasonable period of time.
Also if an item is faulty they are not obliged to offer a refund, after a reasonable period of time has passed they are obliged to repair or exchange to rectify the issue and if they cant do this then they have to offer a refund"Save the cheerleader - Save the world"0 -

The SofGA does not specify how long 'reasonable time' is. This can only be determined by a court. As Christmas occurred during the period the length of time is not unreasonable.
Also, the buyer can insist on a refund if the item is not as advertised because of the relatively short time he has had it. He can be offered a replacement but does not have to accept it.

This is very unethical of Debenhams and certainly something that you should take up with them at the highest level.

The OP has admitted to stacking codes, each code has terms and conditions attached, likely hood these T+C have been breached by using more then one code.
Like to see the argument with Debenhams especially if the codes were targeted for use by specific individuals and the OP wasnt suppose to recieve the code. I dont think the OP will have a leg to stand on as Debenhams will site abuse of promotional codes.
If the item is not of a price which the OP is willing to pay (the price actaully paid) then all they need to do is return it."Save the cheerleader - Save the world"0 -

You have misunderstood the query. According to what was said, and that is all we have to go by, the poster was asked to enter 3 codes.

Can i get some advice for this situation please.
The week before Christmas bought some heart medication pills for my dog. Bought from an on-line company who I've used, every 2 months for about a year without any problems. They send emails alert stating when order is received and when tablets are dispatched. They sent me a dispatch email on 21st December.
Purchased by credit card.
Still haven't received anything. Contacted the company by email. They responded with an automatic reply stating I'd been put on a list.
I just want to know whether i have any recourse.
I have used the company for about a year and only had one problem when there was a delay in the dispatch. So i have no reason to believe that they haven't sent it out. I assume it went missing somewhere in the Royal Mail. The value was about £52.
Is there any way to get my money back or do i just have to accept the loss?
Do the Distance Selling Regulations help me in any way?
Thanks for any advice.0 -

Your credit card company won't help in this case as the goods were under £100.
Is the company a UK based one?
At this stage I suggest you chase the company and also lodge a claim with Royal Mail. They will require proof and this can be the confirmation you received from the company.

If the goods don’t arrive on time
The Distance Selling Regulations also give you protection if you ordered something online, by phone, fax or mail order and either you or the seller specified a certain delivery date (e.g. in time for a birthday or Christmas) but it wasn’t delivered on time. If this happens you’ve a right to a full refund. If a date wasn’t specified, then delivery should be within 30 days.
I ordered an item from River Island midday Thursday. I paid for 48 hour delivery (expecting it to arrive today - Saturday). They only posted it yesterday so now I won't get it until Monday. I might aswell have paid for 3-5 days delivery. Am I still entitled the above?
I'd probably still want the items, do you think I'd be able to reclaim my postage charges as it cost me twice as much because I did actually want those items today.0
