  • Aww - ancasta - sorry about your finger and even worse about the scumbag trying to 'cop a feel' What a low life, but glad you gave him what for (even if it did break your finger) I'd say report him to the Police, but if he came off worse, erm, you may end up in more trouble :(

Hope he's singing in a falsetto today. When he drops to a baritone then maybe do it again :D

Really just wanted to say "thanks" to everyone for contributing to these threads. Even though haven't posted much over the last few busy weeks, having a quick "squwizz" from time to time has kept up my motivation levels. And CQ, so glad to see you back.

Work today, but need to pop out at lunch time to drop off my Shoebox, plus a charity bag. Will take the opportunity to pop into the local "50p" shop to pick up some bubbles for dd's Christmas stocking and a new demister pad for dh's one, and to Somerfield to check for bargains - just about to check fixture ferrets.

Ahh, and need to extract a portion of "rat" from the freezer, to have alongside sausages and pasta for tonight's tea.

    Take care, ALL.

Morning!! Thank god im on holiday at last! However, we have located a small flea infestation on the cat last night (bloody cat owning visitors - I could string them up) so I need to get that sorted today - full details are posted on the flea post ive bumped - and would love some help! Its an utter pain in the butt as I really cant afford this kind of problem until I get paid, so Telewest bill money is being used and the boyf will have to locate funds to pay that.

Bleeding nightmare. Talking of bleeding though, Im giving blood this evening so aside from cleaning the house from top to bottom and preparing dinner so I dont have to do anything when I get back from the blood thing (it wipes me out so Ill sleep well tonight!) ive got to get the cat treated, and do a multitude of other admin type things, like organising and sending back post etc etc.

My holiday is a blessing that it was just at the right time, but also a nightmare!

Will post later when ive stopped mentally murdering my freinds/visitors - how bloody irresponsible of them to have flea infested cats and they are bringing them to me!!

    Jo xx

    Good morning all

Got soaked on the school run this morning - it's very wet rain today IYKWIM. DD2 keeps bursting into tears for no reason - So I'm sure she'll be coming down with something and probably come home with a raging temp.

Working today - only one little one tho so an easy day. Out for dinner with friends tonight - celebrating 3 birthdays (My friends, DH and friends son) will be nice to all go out as a family, just hope DD2 feels up to it when she comes home.

Got a day off tomorrow and am going to have a real blitz on my bedroom. Decided to move all the furniture around at the weekend so need to do the pre-move blitz and make it a bit easier. My room doubles as a junk room/craft room/ironing room, I've got huge built in wardrobes so really need to empty them completely and give them a good hoover and clean out and restack everything. Going to have a clear out of all the bed linen I seem to have too, I really don't need that much.

Will get BM going later this afternoon and need to make an inventory of the freezer and get a meal plan worked out for next week (really slipped on that lately)

DH goes away for 3 days next week so need to get his suits/shirts/shoes etc all pressed/cleaned and ready to go (if I left it to him he'd forget everything apart from his laptop!)

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

    Hello everybody,

No need to beat myself up today :D as I've been extremely productive. I have a very good reason though. My Oldest Son's partner & Granny's little angel is arriving tomorrow for 2 weeks visit.:jHe is 7 1/2 months old. I have made him some HM baby food & got everything ready. The last month I've been scrapping & repainting the cot & high chair. I bought some nappies and they are washed and waiting. It's been about 1 month since I've seen them. I usually try and get up there every 2 months to visit for 1 week. It takes me that long to save for the trip. They live quite a distance away.

Lovely to see your post tonight CQ. I have another impossible pie to post would you believe. It was in a new mag I got this week. It looks delicious. Your DS can try it out first and give me the verdict. Hope you all have a happy day.

Warm and sunny day today. Good swimming weather. :p
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

  • Hi All

I think our westie knows whats happening  he;s curled like a cat on the sofa sulking and ignoring everyone. He is 2.5yrs and is like a child if he dont get his own way...I will miss his character, but know he will be happier on a farm-chasing all the animals

Also on a more positive note-there will be alot less dust-so less hovering and we spend about £2.00 a week on food/mixer, so thats £104 a year saved, no poo patrol, wooden floors should only need sweeping not moping daily, the cat flap he uses to get in and out will be shut-so saving on fuel consumption, and the bonus of still seeing him when we want and emailing them whenever we want and him getting full enjoyment out of his life :j

Still gonna miss the !!!!!! though :grouphug:

Hello - I am feeling much better today as I had a really good sleep and it has done me good.

Breakfast was poached egg on toast and lunch will be home made cauliflower cheese (cauli was 29p at Lidl)

Tea will be turkey mince with onions , carrots and sausages and potatoes with sprouts (DH loves them).

Washing machine is on and dishy has already beeen on this morning.

DH is taking advantage of the fact that DDs are not here to varnish the spindles on the staircase so I am staying out of the way.

May try to talk him into a quick trip to Lidl to look for snow boots and a watch for him.

  • Morning :hello:

Grrrr I hate my job!

Turned into a blithering emotional wreck at work yesterday, and finally 'fessed up to my boss that it's ALL of my job that I hate, not just the bit she already knew about. Basically in July they let someone go who was useless, and I got landed with his full time job (with no experience or training) on top of my own, which was already causing me to work long hours  I've only been in the job for six months, and am working 25% more hours than in previous job, for only 10% higher pay  And all our project targets keep getting postponed, which means that if I want to put anything worthwhile on my CV that wasn't already there, I have to stick it out for a while longer  And it's affecting my relationship because BF gets paid a fortune for working 9-4:30 and can't see why I put myself through it.

Came on this morning so realised that my little tantrum probably had a lot to do with PMT :o (funny, didn't actually feel premenstrual at the time) but it sure as hell needed saying...

So am considering my options. Possibly trying to get into higher education admin. I know loads of people who do it and they all seem to have relaxed working atmospheres and healthy attitudes towards work/life balance (no 10pm finishes to get reports out!!) Also think I might make some enquiries with the Financial Services Authority, as I'd fit right in there (excellent data analysis skills and - thanks to MSE - a keen interest in financial products and regulation) and have been recommended them as an employer by TWO different friends. They get a 35-hour week, flexitime, health insurance, use of gym, non-contributory pension AND they're based in Docklands so I wouldn't have to come into central London every day!

    Annnnnyway....

Got an email from Amazon last night saying my order (inc the new Money Diet) is on its way :j

Am having HM sausage casserole and pasta for lunch :j

It's Thursday so only one day to go till Friday :j

Ancasta you really cheered me up with your story about your boyfriend's reaction to your suggestion of having a baby... :rotfl: Sorry about your finger though...

The (free) opera was really good last night (except for the fact that in the first act you couldn't hear ANY of the words, even though it was in English. Contrary to popular belief, this is NOT always the case). Colleague enjoyed her first opera too. Bizarrely we ran into somebody else from work who never goes to the opera (also on a mate's free ticket)! Am going to see another one tonight, also free (courtesy of friend who works at the English National Opera) - it makes me completely exhausted to go out so many evenings, but I find it really exciting and it takes my mind off work. As long as it doesn't cost too much I don't care, and you can't do much better than FREE! :D Looking forward to having some spare time for OS'ing over the weekend though.

Anyhow I am rambling, and have the usual enormous pile of paperwork to attack...

  • Just got off the phone to my mam who is off work on holiday for a week ( we usually email each other as we work for the same company) and she told me that the "rheumatism/arthritis" she had in her knee is actually a large cyst. The original doctor told her the ache would go away but couldnt explain the large lump. She saw a lady doctor and she diagnosed it right away. Has to see another specialist. My poor mam, nothings gone right for our famliy recently, atleast its been diagnosed.
