  • Hi all!

Will pop out later when DD has had her nap, have to take some boots back for a refund and withdraw some cash to buy DS1 & 2's new school jackets.

Ancasta - what a nightmare with that bloke trying it on!! Glad you gave him what for, bloomin cheek! The boyf/baby story made me laugh!! :rotfl: Hope your mum is better soon.

Not sure what we will have for dinner tonight, will take some prawns out of the freezer and do something with them.

Thanks to everyone for the SC advice, I have one (free gift) coming from La Redoute and even though it will be too small for 5 of us I'll try it out before buying a 'proper' one!

  • Morning all!

Just a short message cos i've got to go and pick DD up soon. Feeling better about life today, i have to try and be positive cos once you're down it is so hard to climb back up again. (((Hugs))) to anyone who is feeling below par today

Cold and rainy here so apart from taking DD to have her photos done this afternoon at playgroup we're not going anywhere. Breakfast was toast and jam for both of us, dinner will be soup and bread and tea is beef casserole, mash and broccoli, with bananas and custard for afters.

Hoping to make a start on Xmas cards this afternoon (eeek you all gasp!) but DD can write her own if i tell her how to spell the names but she only does about 2 at a time before getting bored so we're gonna do a couple every day until they're finished (we have a HUGE family).

    Have a nice day all

    Morning all,
I've not posted for ages for various reasons but I lurk so I keep up with all the goings-on.
I've declared it officially winter today which means I have a sweater on instead of my usual tshirt. It's fine here but dismal so I've hung some washing out, don't know if it will dry though.
I've just made two shepherds pies, I got a lovely big celariac at Lidl yesterday, only 98p so I've mashed some with the potatoes, smells yummy! I have chicken thighs in the SC, most for the dog but some I will use to make soup with the rest of the celariac and other lurking veg.
I have to economise even more now, MrW was made redundant last week and at his age is unlikely to find a new job, trying to sort out the finances is a nightmare. We had a great cheap shopping trip yesterday. I went to Lidl and Farmfoods, got some lovely Haddock in crumbs from Lidl, it was £2 something but there were six pieces, we had some for tea last night, very nice. I don't buy ready meals but Famfoods have some really good cheap stuff. I got a big box of biscuits, 100 minipacks made by Jacobs, for £2.50. Number 2 son will love them for his lunchbox so that's part of his Christmas pressie.
The coffees finished now so must go and clean the bathroom.
    Enjoy your day.
  • Hi again

Just got back from Lidl's - my sole purpose being the moon boots (and some Jammie Dodgers for DS2, which is his bribe for toilet training). The moon boots are regional and we don't get them ooop norf!! They must think we don't get snow up here - or we're too tough (not like the softy southerners :D)

Anyway - still managed to pick up some bits including some ski gloves for £2.99. I can't have enough gloves as I get really cold hands (and feet, but the boots would have been better :D)

They had one of those hand-held steam cleaner thingies and I succumbed (it was £15) so am going to use it to defrost the freeser today. Should be easier to use than the wallpaper stripper, but we'll see. Then I may do my shower cubicle and bathroom tiles.

    Ok, see ya later

    Good morning,
(((hugs))) to all who are under the weather at the moment. Tootles I can really sympathise - have you got any cranberry juice in? I usually make sure I have at least one carton from either Aldi or Lidl in case of emergency.

Not much done today, washing is washed but not yet hung up (in airing cupboard as it is wet & miserable here today.
DS has had his piano lesson this morning, then we called in on my grandma on the way home, so we have only just got in.
D/w emptied & stuff put away, so that's one thing done first thing this morning.
Dinner is chicken casserole, defrosting in the fridge (made double a couple of weeks ago)
I wonder if I can get this posted before my "good morning" is too late?!

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to cheer up a lothargic OH. He's not tired, but has no 'va va voom' if you catch my drift.

Anyway, did well this morning....put washing in the machine...and then forgot to turn it on. Problem is I won't get home until later tonight.

    Afternoon all. Slow day today.

I had to go into school this morning to have words with DD's teacher. Yesterday she drew a letter H on the back of DD's sweatshirt (which I didn't know about until I got her home as she was wearing her coat) I treid brushing it off but it wouldn't come off. Her teacher apologised and said she thought it would just brush off but she won't be doing that again. I've just got it out the washing machine and its still there but very faint. Another go through will clean it up I hope

Had mum and Johanne around before so I haven't done much else today :o I'm stuck in waiting for a parcel from Virgin Mobile for OH - a new phone AGAIN but he got a £90 discount on it so I've let him off. SInce I'm stucj in I am going to do some ebay listing now so I can try and get them listed today. Doing the same as last week where I just do a basic description and include a photo. Last weeks listings are doing well and don't finish until Sunday night. :D

Right off to find the boxes of clothing that need listing ;)
