    Afternoon all,

A late post for me today, DD2 (1) has got the bug and has wanted nothing but cuddles ALL day. Its a bit hard to do everything with a small child attached toy our hip

Nothing done by way of housework today other than more laundry strung up. Its a shame it cant go outside as it is so blowy but the air is damp and the sun stays so low that it doesnt hit my line.

Dunno what dinner will be, DH is having steak(tesco value-what a find!). I may have a jacket spud and kids cous cous with chicken. I really am SICK of doing 3 sets of meals a night and need to get on top of making them all eat OS/HM. Might make myself a star chart this weekend, itworks with DD1(3) for her teeth brushing

MOGGINS-Fab news about your bank, that must feel great. AND THE JOB OFFER YAY YAY YAY.
ANCASTA-I hope that SOD is feeling like the low life he is to day, good for you.
MATH-OH MY GOD, HOW FUNNY.At least your path will be clean and fresh!
CQ-good to see you feeling better about things :grouphug:

OMG!!!!!! More good news!! DH has just been formally offered the job he applied for (a relief position running alongside his current job) which means any overtime he does in this position gets paid at a much higher rate and he can sleep in instead of having to stay awake all night.

And his overtime sheet went in yesterday just in time to catch the November pay so we will be getting an extra £500 (before tax) at the end of the month!!
    That's great news Moggins :T

Wish I got paid overtime, my salary would probably work out about £35k

But wouldn't want it, I'd much prefer to work strictly 9-5 for my current salary and have a life and plenty of "me time" (mantra: need to find new job... need to find new job... need to find new job...)

  • Hi,

I am a newbie to the site. Have been luking for a few weeks so thought I would bite the bullet and join in. My name is Sharon am 35, married with a 10 year old daughter.

Today I have been off work, had to go to the hospital for my routine check up. All clear though and back in a year.

Done 2 loads of washing, stripped the beds and done a food shop. That's about it so far.

Usual day at work, half hour left - yippee!! And tomorrow is Friday - double yippee!! :0)

I bought lunch in with me today so have spent nothing Tues/Wed/Thurs this week, and shouldnt tomorrow either, mind you I have an ebay parcel I should send...

Its nice to still have the £10 note in my purse and have managed without it (although today's lunch consisted of a slightly stale cheese sandwich, yumm!! Not!!)

I have done an order on Tesco.com, that should arrive tomorrow night. Yes, I'll be in on a Friday night waiting for my Tesco order - what a life I lead :0) I intend to do some batch cooking over the weekend whilst I have the flat to myself, lasagne, spag bol, apple crumble & flapjacks.. I used a code for £10, just hope it is accepted (although it said it was at time of ordering....).

Managed to raise £133 on ebay, so just transferred that to my account, mind you, still waiting for a few more cheques. I am a bit sick of saving now, in 2 weeks when I get paid it will be weird seeing that the money is all mine rather than it being used to pay off debt, hoorah!! Although I also know I wont want to touch it..

Have a good evening, I hope that those of you who arent feeling well, get better soon.

    Big Hugs

    xx

MATH :rotfl: Need I say more? You give us all such great entertainment.

CQ - it's really good to see that you can't cope without us. :D And don't worry about the kitchen floor - I don't worry about mine. I think about it, then think..... nah................... It still looks the right colour-ish! :p

PP - hurrah re the stairlift!

Ancasta - :rotfl: regarding the baby. That's normally how I operate too.

Today hasn't been too bad, but I can't wait until tomorrow. I've had a headache all day, so I've just been to the chemist to get some stronger headache killing tablets. Fingers crossed that they work. Unfortunately there's a bug going round the school where I am - two of the children in my numeracy class decided that they'd be ill! Oh joy.

I also popped into the little greengrocer in town for a couple of bananas (for packed lunch tomorrow) and a courgette. I've got lots of veggies that I need to make into a veggie pasta sauce, but I didn't have a courgette in stock for a little extra. Whilst I was in town, I popped into the coffee shop and had a large coffee and a large muffin. Hopefully OH will be late home from work and I'll be able to fit all my tea in. :D I really must stop going to the coffee shop/they should close alot earlier. It's not OS AT ALL and I can't really afford it.

On the otherhand, I got my latest wage slip and I haven't had to pay any tax this week - probably due to the very high amount of tax that I was paying when I first got this job with the agency, due to being on the emergency tax code. My bank (lack of) balance could definitely do with it.

OH and I were looking into flying somewhere on that Ryanair deal - "free flights" thing. We could go to France for £30 each (including all taxes), however I've talked us out of it as we can't really afford to go, pay for hotels, food AND then go on honeymoon and hopefully buy a house next year. It's a real shame as I would love to go, but I suppose you've just got to be practical, haven't you? :(

Anyway, supper tonight will be fish cakes (yellow sticker from Tesco) with new potatoes and steamed veggies. Nothing spectacular, but easy to do and makes space in the freezer for something else!

    Evening All!

Hey CQ fantastic to see you back, and sounding so mellow too.

I've just returned from the vet with my 18 year old moggie. She is in good spirits and definitely not in pain, but is getting terribly thin - she has had an overactive thyroid for a few years now - the vet has sent a sample of blood away for analysis to find out just how bad it has got. He also discovered that she has an enlarged kidney (oh no!!) and a blood sample is away for analysis to find out how bad that is. In the meantime she's on special food for kitties with renal problems - £1 a tin, and she is allowed a tin every day, though she could eat a lot more as she tends to be v.hungry with her thyroid problem. The final bill was £73 GULP! I had anticipated her dose of thyroid tablets being increased but the vet wasn't happy about doing that without investigating her blood first. She is worth it though, she must be the sweetest natured little kitty ever and she has brought me so much happiness over the years. She can be tough when she wants though - she boxed my new cat's ears the other day, just to let him know that she is the boss in this house, even though he is twice her size.

Otherwise the house is a tip, I have a mountain of washing to do, need to give myself a shower, and have an essay to do for next week (was going to do it last weekend, but somehow managed to avoid picking up a single book - plenty of time to look at MSE though!!).

PP hope you have a good night's sleep tonight.

    All the best everyone.
