It is good that you get a bit of advance notice that MIL is coming over but 20 minutes is not fair - next time say that you were just on your way out and go - anywhere.
Maybe she will get the message and be a bit more considerate.

I am typing this in the library as DH is at home.
Managed to talk him out of starting to paint part of the hall this morning as we have to be at a school prizegiving this afternoon and he will not have time.

I also did not fancy having to move - empty, dust and refill a huge bookcase this morning and then get moaned at by DD because her reference books had been put back wrongly.

Why oh why - when men decide to do something does it always involve us in extra work and hassle.

Worried because I ordered a load of stuff from cosmetics direct and none of it has arrived - they told me it was shipped on 14 th October - tried to e mail them but computer in library will not do it - will have to phone them later but that involved DH earwigging and saying "What do you want that for?" GRRH!

  • mornig all, lots to do again today, or though I should be taken it easy as I have managed to do my back in somehow
hane still lots to sort in the kitchen for when we move, still charity bags and boxes everywhere, I am so amazed at the amount of junk I still have. Think I will phone oxfam and see if they can pick it up as not so darling partner is being a useless *** ,
Not sure where we are heading at the momment, don't really like the idea of being a single mum, but can't hack this relationship any more, sometimes we're fine , but I find him so irratating especially when things need to be done and he just sits on his bum. I have decorated this flat all by myself, put up shelves fixed things, and never get a hand of help. If he does the washing up once a month he thinks its a big deal. sorry to rant just really need to get this off my chest, was hoping mum would come round this morning but my little sister is ill so they have gone to the doctors.
Have been crying half the morning because I don't know what to do. If we do move he will want to be put on the tenancy agrrement , but that is somthing that I really don't want at the momment. We've been together 6 years since I was 17 and I have grown up a lot in that time, unfortunately it hasn't helped as we have really grown apart as I don't have the same ideas as him anymore.
right I will shut up now.
    hugs to all

    Morning All!

Hope everyone is wearing their poppy

On and off night, had tummy pains a lot. Feeling pretty run down today, as I did so much at work yesterday.

Would love to go home now (I've been in 10 minutes!!!)

Hugs to all who need them

    Morning all,
Yucky sort of day today weather-wise... not exactly raining, but not exactly dry either. Washing will have to go in the airing cupboard.
DS is at work this morning - doing his "Saturday" job, as he will be out tomorrow, so I have taken him to where he works, which is in a little village a few miles away - but the usual road is closed for repairs so we had to do a detour through a windy, quaint little single track road with passsing places - much needed ones, cos all the usual traffic is trying to get down this one tiny lane!
Have to take the cat to the vet tonight as she has some sort of lump on her neck, so am not looking forward to that.
(((hugs))) to all, especially those who are particularly down; Frey, I hope things work out for you; PP - hope all goes well re your decision about your westie.

Huge hugs Freya - It's really hard when you start to feel that a relationship has run it's course. I used to feel that it would be easier being a single parent than also having to look after a useless lump too :(

PP - you are doing the right thing if you feel your doggie isn't getting the right attention from you, he will always remember you though. I had to give my dog to my sister when we were posted to Germany and everytime I visited her it was obvious he had never forgotten me, right up till the day he died.

Today I have been totally lazy as DH decided he was going to get up at 6.30 and get the kids off to school for me so I had a lie in, total bliss!!

Now DD1 has presented me with a washing pile bigger than Everest so I will have to spend the day doing that, I still have 4 boxes in the dining room but I am refusing to unpack them until the new storage unit arrives (hopefully today). I sacrificed a huge bookcase when we decluttered and I'm really missing it now :(

The parents are due to arrive soon for their weekly visit and the place is a tip but do I care? If they don't like it they don't have to stay :D

DS's birthday tomorrow so I have a cake to make and wrapping paper to make as the box his stereo comes in is huge and I was not buying 6 sheets of paper at 35p each just for it to be torn up and put in the bin!!
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Morning all and hugs to everybody!

I've been a busy bee this morning. DD woke up at 6.15 with a nightmare about me painting her face  so that was me awake. Went back to bed but couldn't go back to sleep so I got up. By 7.15 this morning both bedrooms where tidy, including the beds made, and all the washing was together ready to do! I actually had the washing machine on by 7.30  Took DD to school today in her own clothes as they are collecting for the Xmas fair (2nd December so I might leave stocking fillers for OH until I've been to it ;) ). I had to take the donations through to the office myself as I took the equivelant of 2 black bags full of stuff in - well it was stuff that was due to go to the charity shop and I'd rather the school had it :D Now I have an empty storage box ready for items that don't sell this time around (will still list them once more though, but for 7 days instead). Maybe, just maybe, by Christmas I might have managed to convert that box back into the shoe box but keep it in the livingroom instead of the bedroom

Bedrooms are all picked up, literally, ready for me to hoover. I'm thinking of moving the furniture in our room but still not made a definite decision yet  The last of 4 loads of washing is in and when it's done I'll be off to the laundrette for about an hour to get everything dry ASAP. When I get back I'll get stuck into the cleaning of the bathroom and the dusting which I can't do ATM as all the cleaning clothes are in the washing machine again because some cat sprayed them while they were out on the line, not to mention the fact they had already been out since halloween so they were just a little bit dirty and smelly again :doh:

I need to tackle the pile of dishes next/in the sink and put the wash basket of stuff I've just taken upstairs away. Didn't put them away straight away as OH rang to return my call. He ordered a new Nokia mobile from Virgin Mobile with a £90 discount (:T) but Virgin charged him £109.99 on my credit card (which had £0 on it!) as it wouldn't accept his bank card :mad: He's rang them and they've said they will refund the £90 but it could take up to 10 days! Well OH can pay the £20 balance over the weekend when he checks his HSBC credit card (6 months 0% for BT :D ) and renews the car insurance which will also go on my credit card. Hoping we can also manage to BT the car insurance across before the 30 days expires :shhh:;):D

Better go and hoover the bedrooms before the washing machine finishes then I'll only have the dusting to do and the washing to put away ;)

    Back later.....:wave::wave:

  • Morning all :)

Not up to much today, DD isn't at playgroup as they have a 'serious staff shortage' so have had to close today. Been to Asda this morning with my mam, bought a new handbag for my night out tomorrow, its was only £3 so i thought i'd treat myself :) Can't wait til tomorrow!

DD had Muddles for breakfast, i had tea and toast. Dinner will be either beans or spaghetti on toast and tea will be beef casserole, mash and broccoli (we were meant to have it last night but i wasn't feeling well so i wasn't hungry and DD went round to my mams for her tea)

Gonna tackle the ironing pile later, its my mission for the day!

  • Afternoon everyone. Sorry for the late post, been stuck at the hospital until round about now and im at work. I have broken the wee tiny tip of my middle finger and done quite serious ligament damage. Its all strapped up and i have seen a physio and have to go back in 3 weeks to see if i need surgery to correct the ligament damage and pin the bone *feels sick*

Having a rough day. ive been flamed off my favourite other message board which ive been a member of for years and my post count is like billions lol. There has been some bad air and one of the moderators has got a grudge/vendetta going against me and hes saying if i ever see him or his girlfriend out and about theres going to be trouble. I mean !!!!!!, a 30 yr old teacher threatening someone like this, not very clever is it?!

Needless to say i wont be going back to that website. The owner has been too spinless to repremand the moderator after he threatened violence to others. Gutted too as i loved it.

More time to post on here though right? I got loads of freebies in boots today, i got free pantyliners, free tissues, free hair product and redeemed my points for a meal deal and some elastoplast tape to help strap my fingers up. Really a good "free shop".

Its our weekly take away treat night tonight and to be honest the week ive had i could eat a million chineses and drink a thousand gallons of vodka... you know how it goes. Things can only get better. Waiting till pay day (22/11/05) to do christmas shopping as im very prone, if i do it early, to either change my mind and buy someone something else or forget ive bought them something. Ive budgeted for it so it doesnt matter about the cost. Ive been through the boots catalogue and marked who is getting what so i might even order online to save the bother of going to a shop and then redeem some nice online vouchers.

Will post back later when i get the chance

(this message took about 40 mins to type because of my hand)

Well I'm back from the laundrette and just enjoying a butty, 2 mince pies :o (HM so thats my excuse :p ) and cup of hot chocolate

The bedrooms and bathroom are hoovered (I know, carpet in a bathroom is a no no but so is turning to a icicle when you go in there! At least the carpet takes the chill off) and I'm going to give my stairs a good brushing with my new stiff hand brush (See mum - I know you read this - I am learning..its only taken me 5 years to get one :rotfl:). Then I'm off to tackle the bedrooms with microfibre cloths (need to clean DD's window as well again!), the bathroom with bleach and a scourer to get rid of the rust marks (don't ask) and then I MIGHT get around to doing the dishes :o Mind you, DD wants to make "Tuna Turnovers" for tea so she needs to make cheese pastry in the mixing bowl that sitting waiting to be washed. I think I'm going to have to find something to pad tea out with though, somehow I don't think mini tuna pasties will fill OH  Will have to check the recipe again to see how much it makes.

Just about to go and have a look at the cost of tumble driers. I'm sick of sitting around in the laundrette for an hour or so twice a week at a cost of at least £2 per trip (with bedding it can be £4 at least) I'm going to see if I can justify the cost of one, as well as a dehumidifier  Might even have a look on ebay ....
