He has no eyes & the stitching is terrible lol but he is my 1st attempt. I don't like much about him but it hasn't put me off trying again.

I found some lovely fluffy socks in tesco earlier and though I might make a fluffy monkey as the ones on here look sooo cute!

But I'm wondering if the edges fray more with fluffy socks than they do with normal ones?

Also, are they more likely to fall apart where they have been sewn than the normal socks?

I can use them for sock muffins so don't want to cut them on the offchance iyswim?

I have pinking shears but I'm not sure if they work for knitted things?

These sock monkeys are brilliant.........all of them. They all seem to have their own little character and are much better than I could do.

I am intrigued by this sock muffin idea...........how do you do them ? Is it much the same as a flannel cup cake ?

Yes, exactly the same except with a pair of fluffy socks.

I thought when I put sock muffin that I hadn't got the name right! It should have been sock cupcake.

They look very good and are nice for teenage girls, I think.

There is a photo of one with all the photos (wherever they are?)

The fluffy socks do tend to pull apart a little easier but the one I've made seems to of put up with being dragged around by a 4yo... I like to sew the bits before I cut them so no need to pin it etc...

Well I WILL have one finished sock monkey tonight I hope. I am going to get the sewing machine out and make one for the children. Might do both but will see how I get on with the fluffy socks first. OH is moaning that I didn't finish the first one but I explained it was too big and looked stupid ... so he moaned some more and I threatened to gag him with the socks lol

I have wooden buttons for the eyes but the mouth I think will be the hardest part for me I think.
