Hey all - it occurred to me that if you made a monkey with children's socks and stuffed it with charcoal instead of stuffing, he'd make a pretty horrible stuffed toy but an excellent shoe stuffer.

Get rid of stinky feet smells from stinky shoes, only cutely :D

I was thinking of other things to use as stuffing and thought about lavender and wheat so then it could be a smelly monkey or a hot monkey (heat in micro!!)!

Has anyone tried to use kids socks, wonder if it would be too fiddley trying to turn out to stuff. Small ones could be joined together to make hanging monkey for a kids room.

Shelley I pinned mine as the instruction showed also and found it kept it all together which made it easier for me to sew!!!

I haven't got nostrils on mine so may sew that on later!!!

Wow thanks, if I get my £5 play voucher from Quidco may well spend it on this book. Is it easy to follow???
It looks simple enough, there are line drawings showing where to cut and where to sew... Haven't attempted anything out of it yet though...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

I'm using children's knee socks for my first monkey and it's not as hard as I'd expected. He's a bit unattractive, but that's not because of the size of the socks!

I think he's lovely! Mind you, I like odd-looking things - just take a look at my OH for the evidence of that!!

    Thanks :)

One of his eyes is made of Danish money, the other out of a button that came off my trousers. He's also stuffed with cotton wool because I had no stuffing - hope he doesn't ever get wet ;)
