They are all great - I love the fact each one is unique! Thanks for posting pics everyone.

I have a second one in the making but need to sort some stuffing out before I can go any further.

Shelley - he's lovely. What fab colours!! The toe definately works better I think!! Did you do him by hand or by machine in the end??
Thanks Angie - he is very bright!! I bought the brightest funkiest socks I could find LOL.
I done the bulk of him by machine and the rest by hand. But it does take an awful long time though - how long does it take you to make them??
The toe is much better I won't use the heel again xx

Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

  • Thanks Angie100, yes i made the monkey out of knee length socks. Trouble is they didnt have much stretch to them so it was difficult to stuff them-especially with my terrible stitching. I did mave to make a few repairs.hehehe.

It took me around 3 evenings, it does take a long time. I thought is was because I was hand stitching. I guess it's fiddly whatever way you stitch it!!!!

I looked for fluffy socks today and Matalan had nice ones but I thought they were too expensive!!! Primark had lovely ones but only one colour choice. I bought some normal cotton ones in Next Clearance as I wanted camoflage ones to make a monkey to send to the US for my boyfriends birthday! Only got as far as pinning it all up tonight!

It takes me about 4 - 5 hrs and thats using a sewing machine for some of it. I've bought most of my socks from Peacocks and they are really good value 3 for £3. I love bright colours so they suit me because they are so jazzy. A camoflage one sounds lush.
Are you addicted yet??? I am x:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Yes it is addictive lol - I keep looking at socks and thinking whether they would make a good monkey lol!!!

Haven't looked in Peacocks, will see there on Monday.

Wanted to get started on the camoflage one tonight but as I was pinning it my boyfriend wanted to chat online so that was that!

Hi Ladies, I picked up some fluffly socks pack of 2 from Asda, they were half price so £1.50 for both pairs. one is a baby pink and the other is a baby blue, but they have like a silvery sparkle to them aswell. Will take a picture later on and upload.
    Hope this helps someone.

lol I still need some eyes for my sock monkey. hubby keeps calling him the dalek monkey because he has a star right between where his eyes should be. I'll see if I can upload a pic but be gentle, I've never been brilliant at sewing lol. I don't like his mouth either but I'm liking the idea of using the toe so I think I will try that for my next one.
    Hugs

DSCF3328.jpg He has no eyes & the stitching is terrible lol but he is my 1st attempt. I don't like much about him but it hasn't put me off trying again.
