It does take a couple of hours to do by hand and the sewing on of the arms and tail are a bit fiddly... I ordered that book from play.com and it arrived yesterday... The monkeys are slightly different but will try one maybe tonight...

I really do wish I had a sewing machine tho!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Thanks Angie - the eyes are actual button eyes you can buy for toys they have a gold disc on the back so they can't be detached once they're on. I haven't used any felt.
I'm a bit disappointed because I find stitching the arms and ears on difficult. I'm in the middle of one now and hoping that the more I do the easier it will be.

Mine still hasn't been done any further (yes I know I started the thread and others have done more than one!)

Anyway I plan to be near a primark over the weekend so I think I will buy some normal length socks and start again. Shame cause my socks were great and funky but just too big. The knee length socks mean the one for my daughter would be bigger than her!

Oh I will have to look out for those button eyes, they look great! I found it helpful having the stripes on the sock when sewing on the ears and arms, it was easier to position it equally!

I guess the more we make the easier they will get!!! Here's hoping anyhow!!!!

I tried to get some more fluffy socks today but didn't get any and Primark only had the one colour which came with plain pink fluffy ones. I think I will try T J Hughes and see if they have any!!

Rusty - I got my pink stripey ones in Primark, came in a pack of 2 along with a plain pink pair for £2 tied with a pink ribbon around them. They were just the right size!
