  • Well i've finally made my 1st sock monkey and its taken me almost 7 hrs!!??!! Had to finish it today because its a birthday gift off the kids for my brother for tomorrow. I knew the first one would take forever but hopefully I now know what to do it will get quicker. I thought i would customise it so I made a cigarette (brother smokes like a trooper) and stitched it to monkeys hand. I also stitched a Made with Love silver heart to his chest.
Think I might be addicted now though and have the urge to make more tomorrow !! Got some lovely stripey socks to make up next xx

Angie, just be aware that when you're making fluffy sick monkeys, the fluff gets everywhere! I was plastered in white fluff... and I think DD throwing it around didn't help much...

I made another one last night, will upload some photos later... Have some hiking socks here that I'm going to try and sock bunny tonight...

I know lol I was covered in that and the fibres from the stuffing!!! I felt like I had swallowed some also!!!! I have done the body, arms legs and tail now sewing his chops on!! the heel piece of my sock was not such a good shap so I am using the toe, can't se the seam on the fluffy socks so I think it will be fine!! Ears are done also ready to sew on. It takes ages though when you are doing it all by hand!!!

Mine's got body, legs and ears done, and his arms and tail are lying on the coffee table waiting for me to finish him.

He's a prototype, I'm awaiting delivery of the genuine sock monkey socks to do it properly.

I used cross stitch silk for his mouth and couldn't resist buying the charms to put on him. I'm planning on making another tonight :D:D:D:D:D

The bead shop in Lichfield has some little charms with 'hand made with love' and things on, might have to buy a bunch of them!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
