Thanks - I have some charms like that that I bought when i was in hong kong. You can buy them on ebay also cheaply in bulk from chinese sellers.


There are Sock Monkey groups on facebook with lots of photos, alot are American.

It's going to be for my fiances 24th birthday with is on the 17th. As im doing him an Army thmed hamper im making the monkey out of camo knee length socks. Im nervous

I did mine by hand and it took me several evenings to complete.

Oh what a shame, are you sure you can't unpick it and start again. Don't write it off, once you get the hang of it you will be fine. It's abit fiddley when you start but I think it gets easier!

Keep going shezmit - i'm a bit disheartened today too. I was really excited that I mastered a sewing machine last night and have spent the last 4 hrs making my second monkey. I think hes ok but I'm not that impressed. I think i need to practise how to stitch the arms and ears on better. I've got the bug now but it takes sooooooooo long !!!:rolleyes:
