Disconnect the router? The PC's currently connected to the router with an ethernet cable, but its normally wireless, so you want to go back to wireless?
I guess you can, though you may need to do the same thing with the wireless connection. Though if you can leave it connected with the wire, its generally better. Though if its trailing across the living room or something then wireless would be better.0 -
Well, have now gone back to wireless and i have the error message again.MB commenced 4/4/08... Thanks for the profit!0

I have checked the same IP address thing and it still saus 'Automatic'. Checked my network key and retyped that in. The yellow balloon is there saying I am connected to the internet - yet IE cannot display the page?MB commenced 4/4/08... Thanks for the profit!0

Hmm, odd. What happens if you open up internet explorer and type in 192.168.2.1 into the address bar?
Also, what do you get if you do the ipconfig thing again?0 -

Typed in the number and it says 'address not valid'.
IP config says:
Ethernet adapter wireless network connection
ip address: 192.168.2.101
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway says 192.168.2.1MB commenced 4/4/08... Thanks for the profit!0 -

Then type in ping www.google.co.uk
and let us know what happens. This signature was previously violated by my wife, that'll learn me to stay perma logged in.
