Just a thought - if your daughter doesn't mind very nearly new - place where I got my Focus, has loads of Fords, ex lease very low mileage, some not even registered. Called Copthorne Motors - bit of a trek but worth it, not far from Gatwick Airport. DON'T buy a Focus cabriolet - they leak :o

Edit - they have a website

I looked at their website, thinking of hubbys servicing for his Galaxy, its not 6 months yet (about 3 or 4 months), but when its time for servicing he would probably take it back to the dealers (Fords in Redhill) for the servicing.

But I think you have to service at the dealers to keep the warranty, don't you. I know people have argued this, but I bet the maker would put up a damn good fight.

Jeanie you know what you said about Ford windscreens, they do have all the toys.
Hubbys windscreen turns the wipers on when it rains & the lights on when it gets dark (or you go through a tunnel).
I got Air con & big alloys because mine was the plus model, but none of that electric stuff:rotfl:

Whats the difference between climate control & air con?

    Completely and utterly disagree MrsE!

The makers cannot by law not commit to the warranty agreement - as long as the car is serviced in accordance with their instructions, using genuine parts (OE is acceptable but we use genuine when a car is under 3 years old anyway) and that the garage is VAT registered.

You do get what I call 'anally retentive' folk who feel they just have to have a dealership stamp in the service book. The way some dealers are these days, I'd say that their stamp is a negative one, or could be. Shame you are not near me...

Got a good Ford independent near us - tho we do lots of Fords ourselves, many owned by Ford employees (they can supply their own parts too, saving a few quid there, we don't mind).

Actually, think Copthorne use an independent near them that specialise in Fords... may be worth a call.

    Erm.....

Don't get me being technical... cos I am not.

Right, previous Focus was a Ghia and had climate control that was brilliant. Present Focus has air con which is, er ok.

Climate control is better - but can't add much to that! Need an expert! Where I work, we specialise in air con....... :o And this is why I am in the office and not the workshop...

Edit: You get more knobs with climate control too...

I think everyone is going a bit slower now with the price of fuel:mad:

Even the boy racers seem to have slowed down:rolleyes:

I try not to ever let that revy thing go over 3, even when I'm changing up.

    I'm not :D

Long as the slower drivers stay outta my way I'm happy :D

(And I don't change gear till at least 6,500 revs ;))

    (I'm not a boy either)

i'll never understand why people buy cars that don't need a brain to drive

air con pumps out air at a specific temperature (say 21 degrees) whereas climate control will pump out whatever is needed to ensure the cabin stays a certain temperature (say 21 degrees) ;)

Perhaps if you were a cab driver you might appreciate the automated stuff, bit different when you are in your car up to 12 hours some days.

I drive to the very north of scotland several times a year - 15-18 hours in a car each way.

If your hubby prefers windscreen wipers and lights that turn themselves on, then fine, but as I said, I'll never understand it.

It's not like flicking the lights on is that strenuous!!

Several times a year is a little different to 6 days a week:rolleyes:

I don't actually see why you felt the need to butt in on my post to Jeannie & make an issue of it anyway? If people wish to purchase extras or buy certain models with extra features its up to them.
He pays for it, my daughter will be paying for hers & I pay for mine.
I didn't give you a hard time over spending £1,600 getting your foofoo hair & other bits lazered off did I? I was interested & asked one or two questions, when I decided it wasn't for me, I didn't berate you for spending £1,600 on get your mooie made bald!
