I don't know about you & your family, but my family & I ALWAYS pay our bills & debts.

Its just timing, but my daughter will still be paying for it.

As we are not asking you to fund it I don't actually think its any of your business what method she uses to pay for it.
I don't think its any of your business what methods anyone uses to fund their purchases of any type as they are not asking you to fund them.

True, but this is MSE, so throwing money away to Finance Companies for something that isn't essential is hardly MSE.

BTW, as I have told you before, you don't have sole rights on a thread, just because you have started it.

Speaks the man who won't buy Tesco petrol:rotfl:

Finance & how the asset will cost over its lifetime is perhaps a little complex for you, but its about more than just interest.

There is reliability, repairs, the fact that a reliable car will open up more earning potention for her, lots more factors.

Shes 21, she doesn't have 6k cash, lots of people don't have the full cash to buy a new car, but they still buy them, DEAL WITH IT!

Now unless you want to chip in, how its paid for is none of your damn business.

Its NOT going to be purchased with dole money, she works for the NHS & its up to her, NOT YOU how she chooses to spend her money.

What part of "YOU ARE NOT PAYING, SOMEONE ELSE IS" are you having trouble understanding?

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
    Anyway...............

KA - cheap to buy. Kinda says it all really. Many repairs down the line etc., you think, wish I'd got something else.....

What a great thread this is.

Tinkerbell, I was just saying to my son about the climate thingy - I'm not a car freak like you, I tend to get in and just drive to be honest, busy life etc. I'm not obsessed with all my knobs. Just knew one was better than the other and he basically said similar to you, but in a politer way. Climate control, will control the temp of the car all year (or whatever), ie set if for a temp and it stays that way MrsE. Its good and worth having. Air con is just blasts you with cold or warm or whatever you want.

Having climate control, quick clear windscreen etc will help it hold value too.

Inactive, can't be ar5sed to respond to you. Yawn.

MrsE - taken a trip up the road? Recommend daughter gets an ST Focus, they will hold their price, not too big and ideal for a first car. Insurance may be a bit high, but will come down in time.

She wouldn't get insurance on a group 17 car as a brand new driver anyway.

(There are only 20 groups - she needs to be looking at groups 1-4, 6 at a push )

I KNOW the Aygo is a better car, but shes going to test drive the Ka & the Aygo.
I found the Ka on autotrader for 4.5K, now I know a Ka is not as good or reliable as a Toyota, but she will have it for its best years, its first 3-4. I think its the second hand buyer who should beware the Ka's they will have the problems.

But at that price even with higher dep'n, its still a cheap Ka. But shes going to test drive a few, I think the Fox has gotta be worth a test drive too. I like the Swifts, I think they are great little cars, but she wants VERY VERY small for her first one (did I mention shes nearly 5'10"     ) Shes going to have to fold her legs up:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I don't know if mine has climate control or air con, a green light comes on:o :o:o I must look.

I TOTALLY agree about a slightly bigger car being safer, I will get her to look at a couple of slightly bigger ones than super minis, like the Swift & Fabia size. I think a focus is out of her price range anyhow.

Honda Jazz's are great little cars, must see how much they are & they come in pink, she would love that:rotfl:
