**Sorry have already posted this in another thread but I know that this is time critical so have put it on here as well**
I tried switching to Scottish Powers Fixed deal (Fixed to 31st Aug 2009) on Monday via Quidco (£72 cash back) but every time I got onto the SP website the next page for the application would not work.
When I tried again today it worked but the fixed deal was gone and the next cheapest was BG which was £129 more and only £55 cashback. As a last resort I called SP on their 0800 number and someone called me back in two minutes. I was told that the fixed deal is now gone from the website but still available. When I asked about the cashback and the fact that you have to complete the application online she said that if I give her the 'P36' number on the left hand side of the page (this is on the first SP page after you exit Quidcos website) they can continue the application on the phone and still honour the cashback.
Five minutes later and all sorted. I spoke to a manager as part of the process and she also confirmed that the cashback will be paid. As a result I have a fixed deal for 13 months and it's only £24 more than my annual spend at the moment.
I would definitely recommend calling them to see if the deal is still up for grabs. Good luck :jJuly 2018 - Now Mortgage Free0 -
Via Cashbackkings isn't offering me the fixed price tariff either - just all the others.0

this deal is only a year fixed right?
What 3 year fixed are about at the moment if any?0 -
I was in the middle of sorting out a switch & I had both pages open, just after putting all my details in and the next time I refreshed the fixed prices had vanished, but I already had a page open from before with the fixed tarriff link... so...
If you go through quidco to the sp site, put all your details in & then when it comes up with no fixed prices, paste in the following link in your address bar:
http://www.theenergypeople.com/applyToTariff.do?tariffId=153849
It then lets you continue to apply for the fixed tarriff & you should be ok with quidco as you followed their link to get to sp in the first place.
Hopefully crosses fingers!

I tried but couldn't get the 2 screens at the sanme time as one kept crashing. Instead I went via Quidco to the SP website, then clicked onto the homepage and applied from there. Just have to wait and see now. Bit annoyed as I had decided this morning I would apply tonight then BG announced their price rise and everybody panicked (including me!).0 -
They have a fix until August 2009. I signed up to it a few weeks ago. The 3 year fix had gone by then.Happy chappy0

Anybody know the cooling off period with SP?. I'm still not convinced I've done the right thing. Currently with BG and will pay 25% more for electricity by switching. Will save 19% on Gas but I'm sure I could save on Gas elsewhere once the current round of increases has taken place.0

I am on a fixed deal until November with SP, would they let me switch to the new deal now?'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0
