we have a water meter here Pippa and from what we overpaid year before, they cut our payment down to £7 a month. I have dishwaster and tend to do a machine wash a day, also I looooooove my showers, sometimes I just wanna stay in there lol. We also have a combi boiler but not sure about this, either it is not working right (we did report it as pressure was at red and a man came out and fiddled with it) our gas seems to be more here than last place we lived at, I want to cap our bills but as the last gas bill was so high we still owe money, not sure what to do, if its best to put the owing on credit card and change and cap, or hope for the best. When trying to do a comparrison on uswitch it told me the amount I entered was too much, well I kknew that lol. Although do have to say OH is NOT good at cold, he will turn heating up, whereas I will put extra cardi/jumper on or get a spare duvet out. I blame this on him sleeping in his waggon, small space to heat and he don't pay for it!

Tut, frugal - you don't want us all to be bridesmaids  there we were all getting ready to strutt our stuff :D
Thanks for the good lucks for my interview, will let you know how it went

Talk to your existing utility supplier, they may have a capped rate that you can have, better than nothing. It is leaving your existing Supplier you cannot do without clearing any debts, not changing tariff. My water meter has gone down to £6 a month, maybe as we are not here much atm. Certainly saved by changing.

Yes I enjoy alterations, but DH gets stressed and drives me mad. Luckily today he listened and did it my way, so I am happy.

    Happy Birthday :bdaycake: :bdaycake: :bdaycake:

Had a really nice day. DH had a meeting in Whitby so DD(14) and I cadged a lift and had about four hours to look around.

DD got a couple of birthday presents for two of her friends and I found a clearance bookshop and got two books I really like the look of! One is by a favourite author!:j We also bought a lucky duck for DD(220 for future job interviews.

DH met us around 2 and we went for lunch. I am really proud of myself as when DD and DH were having fish and chips I had a crab salad!!!

We missed a parcel delivery so I will need to go tomorrow morning and collect it.

Picking at a small low carb salad while I type so fingers crossed for weight loss.

    Hello everyone

Just a quickie to wish AnnieStar a very very happy birthday - hope your surprise was absolutely wonderful!!

And of course welcome back to our very own fleabag, Pink-winged.

    Dazi - good luck tomorrow.

poppyoscar - hope you come to a decision which is right for you and which leads you to happiness

meanmarie - say hello to Shez and family on my behalf! (NB lock up your Baileys) Regards getting the kitties back from mainland Europe....'fraid I don't know. I brought my three back by road and boat from London to N.Ireland. It was a bit smelly in the car:o_pale_ by the time we got to Oxford. It didn't get much worse after the first poo and the three of them settled down and stopped crying after the first hour or so on the road. Poor kitties, but I couldn't have left them behind. I'd suggest looking at Dublin airport's website to see which foreign airlines fly there and take it from there. I'm sure there are quite a few direct flights from Europe these days. Maybe flying into Cork or Belfast might be an alternative though it'd still be a long drive on arrival.

Wo*k - I'm sat there doing basically beggar all. And the office is boiling, there is no air conditioning and they have these bizarre windows which open but don't allow a breeze in. So I'm sweaty and horrible within five minutes. At least I'm getting paid to be all sweaty and bored so that's an improvement on my previous situation.

Sorry if I've missed big news on anybody else...not intentional I promise.

Thanks for suggestions on cats Snowy...feel that there must be a way, how to find it is the difficulty.

Unfortunately Shez has had to cancel our meeting due to family commitments...a pity as I was looking forward to it, but maybe next time.

Pippa S...I know what you mean about men...OH thinks that I am stark raving mad if I suggest turning off lights, or waiting to get the paper until we are going out for something else (4 miles in car), will only ask for a pound of liver when I want 2 slices and drives with windows down all the time...sorry for rant but needed that off my chest!

    Sleep well all

I more than made up for it Meanie. :D

DGS had a good nights sleep last night. He's gone off to music with XDIL. It's nearly 9.30am and I'm sitting here still in my pj's. Must do something about that real soon. :D Off to make a pot of soup this morning and DGS will be back after lunch. Sleep well.

Dazi - Best of luck. Byeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)
