I spoke to O2 retentions and quoted tescos £20pm and £222 for the 8gb phone and they offered "free" 32gb 3gs, 600min/500 texts/ unlimited internet for £35. So basically a free iphone if I take out their 24 month contract. May try to haggle it to 18 month, but not holding my breath.

I went into the store last Friday when the e-mail from Tesco came and they wrote me into a book.

    Update:

Firstly Tesco forgot to give me the sim card when I went into the store (it is in a separate wallet)

Secondly to get the £20 off you need to spend £40 instore. I bought £40 of e-vouchers which gave me £20 off.

Thirdly, the free data and wifi does not kick in for 24 hours. You will get a message to tell you when it is available. In the mean time, Tesco have loaded their sim cards with £10 free credit to tide you over for 24 hours.

Lastly my local store although having had about 70 iphones delivered, these are spread around the different options. Of the 32g black, there were only 4 payg and 4 monthly pay. There were three people at Tesco at 9am already for the iphone.

Does anyone know whether the iPhone from Tesco will be locked to Tesco or O2? I know that Tesco uses the O2 network but I'm not sure whether the phone will be locked to Tesco or O2. If anyone can confirm when they receive their phone, I'd be most grateful. Cheers.

Well they lock a basic cheapy Nokia to Tesco network so I would presume they will lock a £500 phone :(

Seriously? Same deal on Orange and the phone costs £175.

Think they'll give this to a new customer if I mention you got it?

:( Bad news Im afraid. I called back to confirm I wanted it and was told best I could have was 16 recon model. Im not a happy bunny. Saying that, if they had offered me 16GB in first place, I prob would have taken it, but I got a little bit too cross at being offered something then having it taken away (should really call back to to apologize to second guy!). I should have grabbed offer and ran on first phone call, but little kids needed my attention! Off to chill for 10 mins and then Ill call back. Hope I get first guy again. ;)

    thanks for the info Beds.

I have an 02 Simplicity Sim, got the £100 cashback deal but wondering whether the £20 tesco deal is better.....

    Tesco: 12months x £20 = £240 + £320 for the phone = £560

    O2 simplicity and PAYG handset = £240contract + £440 phone - £100 cashback = £580

and would probably get an upgrade with the Tesco one because it is a contract :(

:ABeing Thrifty Gifty again this year:A

Anyone managed to get hold of an iphone from Tesco yet?

There's still a holding page at the Tesco.com site so obviously no-one's getting one from there just yet but have any been spotted in-store?
