Cheapest iPhone discussion

Hi there, am not sure if this is the right place to ask this question so apologies in advance if this is the wrong place. Am looking to purchase an iphone but it doesn't have to be new, can be refurb or just an older phone. Can anyone recommend any forums which is reputable where people sell off their old phones? Had a look through the list of forums here and couldn't find any forums here. Would rather use a forum rather than going through ebay or gumtree as I've heard too many horror stories about them!
I'm not entirely sure if I'm allowed to ask the above but if not can a mod please delete this post.
Try https://www.avforums.com, they have a selling section with trader ratings. I've used it a few times and it is very reliable.
As for my purchase I can get 30% off any monthly tariff (but only on the 3G 8GB) through a family members work.
So it's a toss up between that or the 3GS on PAYG. Will do the sums later, I really want the 3GS thoughWycombe Till I Die0 -
Does anyone know how quickly mobiles.co.uk get stock / send it out? It's all out of stock at the moment and I'm seeing how much of a wait I'll be in for...
Cheers
It seems like they're getting enough stock to fulfill current orders each week but not enough to bring it back "on sale" on the website.0 -
Hiya,
The stock situation improved dramatically today and we've got people working late to get as many as possible shipped out (depending on City Link/ Royal Mail cutoff times), so all outstanding orders should be fulfilled either today or tomorrow.

jimbow25, just out of interest did you clear all of your cookies before you ordered through quidco? It's the first time I've used quidco so didn't know I was supposed to and I'm not sure if that is maybe why it hasn't tracked?? If it due to this it might be best to cancel the order then try again. Not sure??
I also wondered if it was maybe due to the fact that they are not in stock so the order hasn't been properly processed and therefore the transaction hasn't been reported back to quidco yet? Again not too sure exactly how this all works!!
Can anyone else help?
Just to update though my phone has been despatched nothing has happened on Quidco. Jacki1981 said hers hadn't tracked from her order last week and how it has, so fingers crossed it's just being a bit slow to track.Hi,
Don't know if anyone can help or if it's been asked before but I am nearing the end of my O2 contract and want to upgrade to an iphone.
I wanted to know if it would be possible to do this through mobiles.co.uk so that I can take advantage of the quidco cashback or would I have to go to O2 or carphonewarehouse directly to upgrade?
Thanks in advance
You can't port your number within the same network so you can't use an external site like mobiles.co.uk. BUT:
I got an ASDA Mobile pay as you go SIM (49p) and ported my number to that. I'm now planning to port again, back to O2. Asda Mobile is part of Vodafone so that should be considered a port from another network meaning I could safely order my phone from mobiles.co.uk and get cashback. Hopefully! I can't see why this wouldn't work, PAYG has no contract so there can't be a minimum period for their contract.
The move TO Asda was very smooth O2 texted my PAC code to me within 2 hours and the changeover was sorted out by Asda 2 days later. I'll let you know how the rest goes...0 -
Hi,
We cannot offer you an upgrade for an existing O2 contract to an iPhone at this time, I'm afraid.

I'm also looking at unlocked ones on eBay, at least I wouldn't be pi**sing 2/3 months of my 3 contract up the wall that way. Then I will be in a better position to negotiate a good contract deal (free data and 100 texts is all I will use
EDIT: Got a White 3G 16GB, used off eBay for £290 (subject to buyer honouring best offer promise) Unlocked and Jailbroken
Fairly happy with that, can use till my 3 contract expires 16th December, then look for a new one with free dataWycombe Till I Die0 -
Hmm, well the new iPod Touch does not have a camera, so that's a big dollop of FAIL. Looks like I'll have to save up and get raped for an iPhone 3GS if I want one.
I am hoping someone comes out with a better Android phone, because I'm still not happy about the way Apple treat their customers.0 -
