not really 'always'. Its only better in peoples own circumstances. Its better, for example,. in mine as I plan on keeping the phone for no more than 12 months. If you are happy to sit out your 18 month contract, that wil work better.
  • I'm very keen to get the iPhone as my next phone, Im currently with Vodafone but my contract comes to an end in a few months.

I quite like the idea mentioned on the page before about buying the phone outright and then using simplicity with the cashback.

Was wondering though does using a different sim card not let you do certain things with the iPhone? Like you arent limited if you dont use the original O2 sim card?

You have to change the settings from PAYG to use the data but easily done. Visual voicemail will not be available but normal voicemail will be. You don't get the WiFi bolt on but all this means is that you won't have access to BT Cloud and Openzone - you can still use the free WiFi.

Hi everyone, I have been offered a brand new unopened iphone 3g 16gb for £325. Is it worth getting this and the simplicity deal via quidco or just to get the htc hero?
    thanks

    Hey all,

I ordered the 8gb 3g from ebay. I'm now working out what my best monthly plan would be. My options are:

    1. Simplicity £20/month w/ unlimited web bolt on and more texts and minutes than i could use. £100 kickback through quidco. So £12/month

    2. One of the many £5 sim only sims on ebay that give you 12 months free of unlimited wifi and web bolt on which are on the Favourite Place traffic. So i would have to pay for my calls and texts. £12/month in calls and texts wouldn't be that many. I could jailbreak it and use it w/ skype and pay 6p/text and 16p/minute to mobiles but that is still only 100 texts and 37 minutes at £12/month.

    3. Some three sim only. Which i don't like the options of as it's only 150mb in data allowance which i will very easily go over once i start streaming mp3s over 3g from my home computer.

So 1 is the easy obvious option, correct? Any advances on that?

Seems like i saved a very good amount doing this. I paid £300 for the phone new and will be paying £12/month for 12 months factoring the £100 kickback. Then £20/month for the next 6 months so £560 total for 18 months, on contract that would be £730.

    Many thanks
