I called tmobile to request my PAC about 3 days ago and I gave the iPhone as the my reason for leaving. The lady at retentions clearly said that they had been told to tell customers that tmobile was in negotiations with Apple but that nothing was certain. I was advised to wait 2-3 weeks for an announcement that would either confirm or dismiss the speculation. As I have 50% line rental discount for life, I really do not want to be leaving tmobile so hopefully at least the iphone 3g makes it way from o2!

Yes but the other networks will only have access to iPhone 3G and not 3GS (latest iPhone) which is exclusive to o2 from the various articles I have read.

As far as I'm aware, there's troubles with Apple delivering iPhones at the moment.

The nearest O2 shop to my work, near Liverpool Street in the heart of London are still out of stock of all iPhones...

I had to ring round all the O2 shops in my area, I eventually located one in a small market town, so I asked them to hold onto it and I drove over and got it.

Does anyone know if it anywhere else is doing it with a rebate/refund apart from mobiles.co.uk?

Or as mobiles.co.uk are part of carphone warehouse, will I be a customer of them rather than o2?

I know that CPW have rubbish retention deals when compared to o2 directly. I want to order a iphone for a family member, but he does not want to go via CPW for another year as he has had problems with them in the past.

I am due to come to the end of my contract, I am thinking of going to the simplicity tariff with internet bolt on, would this work all nicely just like before? Would all the data be included?
  • O2 Through CPW - Carphone are now dealing with o2 directly so technically it doesnt really matter where you buy the thing from, you end up with the same people on the same deal.

Best deal for iPhone - IMHO taking out insurance with ACP with carphone is the best way to do it. ACP is a thing they do where you can cancel a 24 month agreement after 12 months if you pay them an extra £2 on top of your insurance premium. You have to give the phone back and pay a £30 fee for doing it, but halfs the contract lengh!!

iPhone customers are direct O2 customers, even if they joined through Carphone Warehouse or one of their subsidaries.

Anyone heard when they'll be back in?

Mobiles.co.uk now have stock of both Black and White iPhone 3GS.

I also note to you all that in addition to the £60 from Quidco you can also get a free bluetooth headset using code GWBT003 at mobiles.co.uk.

Just ordered mine and the code works.
