I haven't adjusted anything and mine lasts until I go to bed around 11.30. I check emails all the time, surf the net. Go on facebook and talk for at least 30 min a day. Even if I take it to the gym and listen to music for 30 min it only then goes on low battery in the evening. I have the 8gb 3g.

i hate asking dumb questions, but when you buy apps directly off your iphone, can you not have it so it takes the amount off your credit? or if on pay monthly, add it to your bill? it keeps telling me to add a card, and i dont want to!

No. The App Store is linked to iTunes, which you need to add a credit/debit card to to make purchases.

If you're contemplating picking an iPhone up it may be a good idea to see what deals T-mobile and Orange might come up with. I have read numerous reports (from the same source, quite likely) about those two carriers potentially offering the iPhone 3G (no S).

Buy an iPhone on pay as you go
    3g £340
    3gs £ 440

Both come with iPhone 02 sim top this up by £10 just the once you then have 12 months free wifi & data . Next down load the Skype app from the AppStore
it's free ( you will need a Skype account this can be opened at Skype.com )
top up you Skype account by £10 ( it's the min you can do)
then purchase a 'your country unlimited ' . This will give you unlimited landline calls within your choosen country for under £3 per month this is by making calls via Skype over wifi.
There is a way to use Skype over your normal 3g network giving you the advantage of using Skype whilst on the move but to do this you need to jailbreak your iPhone ( I'm not in anyway advising you to jailbreak but just informing you Skype over3g is possible )
    hope this helps
email me if you need any info

  • Ok. I've finally decided that I'm gonna bite the bullet and go for an iPhone. My current O2 contract expires on 19th August and I have already rang O2 to request my PAC code to put onto a PAYG sim when my contract expires (to save me paying for another month but which allows me to keep my number in case I hadn't reached a decision about the iPhone). I'm going to order through mobiles.co.uk to get the £60 cashback, so is this ok considering I'm not actually 'upgrading' from my current contract (I will use my PAC to port my number onto this contract)? And is it best to wait until just before my current contract expires so I do not end up paying twice for this month (I presume the new iPhone contract will start straight away?)? Thanks for any help.

You have to give 1 months notice to leave your current contract, do this in writing via email perhaps. Asking for your PAC does not terminate your contract until you pass it to the new provider.

As you are going from o2 to o2 to keep your number you will have to port your number via a PAYG Sim (from another network) first as you can't go direct.

Really? I was told when I rang to request my PAC that this could be used to port my current contract O2 number to an O2 PAYG sim. So if I can't use it to go directly from my old O2 contract to my new one then will this do the job (i.e. go from old contract -> O2 PAYG -> new contract)? Nothing's ever easy is it? And are you saying that if I use my PAC today then my old contract will be terminated but I will still have to pay for 30 days?

Correct. The best thing to do is request the PAC and then wait about 25 days before using it. That way you minimise the amount of time you're paying for 2 contracts, or 1 contract and PAYG.

Excellent that's just what I wanted to know. Thanks
