if you look on the web site it shows an upfront cost, which they have sneaked up
my upgrade was £30 - 500 mins etc and £99 upfront
they were not ready to do a deal with iphone for me on upgrade they were very solid on that ..i expect it is because of demand
just to say it really is a fantastic phone and in west sussex ive found three to be ok0 -
iphone 4 16GB - £499
giffgaff - 250mins, unlimited texts and unlimited web £10 a month
works out £679 for 18 months
the vodafone deal is £790
also if you decide to go for the 32GB iphone under the same giffgaff tarrif the total cost comes out at £779, still £11 cheeper than vodafone0 -
What is giffgaff? o_O
and there is no such thing as "unlimited internet" anymore0 -

I'm looking at getting 2 Iphone 4's & was looking for the best deal
3G - Are currently offering
£30pm & £99.99 for the phone 300mins & 500mb of data
£30pm & £149.99 for the phone - 500mins & 1Gb of Data (Quidco offers £60 on this one) So technically if it tracks it's £89.99
CPW - Are currently offering £80 Cash back on Vodafone Network which is
£30 & £169.99 for the phone - 300mins & 500mb of data so if this one tracks it's also £89.99
I've Always thought of Vodafone as a great voice network but which is best for Iphone I've heard some mixed things about 3?
What's the Average data usage per month does anyone know ?
I guess what I'm looking at is peoples opinions on what they think would be the best deal or other alternatives ?0 -
I've tried Voda twice for iPhone, once on a 3GS, once on an iP4, both were dire, much worse than other networks rounds Herts/Beds/Cambs. The Voda forum is heavily moderated, and they lied on the public forums about my options to return the phone, editing replies where I made public that I could actually cancel the contract and had done.
I'm now on 3 (£99 phone, with £100 cashback from Quidco - £30/mth) and network has been superb, for the first time my iPhone is actually usable, and that includes a few months on O2 Simplicity, speeds are superb.....And as for poor customer service, 3 unlocked the phone the day I got it for £15, and I don't think I'll have to use them as much as I use 3G data, so the quality of network is more important to me than the quality of customer service.0 -
Hi
I'm getting a htc desire hd on tmoblie as an upgrade. I want to sell it for ~£400 on ebay. I want to buy an iPhone 4.Is it worth shelling out the extra £100 to get it direct from apple or should I just get it for around new £400 on ebay? I can find one that still has the warramy.0 -
Yeah Vodafone seem to do the best deals for the iPhone 4 IMO. Also you could try and sell the mobile phone you have to make up some of the contribution fee
My BlackBerry is nearly 2 years old but Mazumamobile are offering me nearly £100 for it.

GiffGaff is unlimited at the moment but will probably have to change at some point. They used to do an unlimited voice minutes for £30, but as some people ran up 13,000 minutes a month on it (thats 9 days) it was pulled as that £30 pack was probably costing GiffGaff about £500 in cost to the other networks.
Currently they are building a subscriber base and probably need to take the hit to get users, but sooner or later they'll have to charge a market rate and put in a cap or start loosing money.
Remember they have to pay o2 for each byte of data transferred and as a company they cannot lose money long term they need to make it for there shareholders.0 -
Thanks for your reply Watcherman. It's funny you should say that because someone else was telling me the same thing about the service in London today & the irony was he switched away from 3 because signal was poor in the albert hall Etc & Vodafone was even worse  so he's just switched back.
I think I'm really starting to lean towards 3, I am worried about the aftercare service if something goes wrong but then maybe you shouldn't spend your time worrying about "what if" or you'd never leave the house.0
