Why would you not choose Tesco if they are the cheapest overall? Just interested as I'm hanging around waiting for them to get back in stock. On that topic, anyone recently got an iphone 4 from tesco or know when they'll have regular stock?
tesco isn't the cheapest
the copmarrison table on the mse website is quite flawed, in that it assumes as soon as your contract finnishes you stop using the phone (ie it is comparing 12 month contracts to 24 month contracts) which is not accurate as most people will continue to use a phone after 12 months
I work it out that 3 is cheapest considering data useage I would need0 -
Reception with Three is not the best in our area so that's a no no.
I just noticed this http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/deals/cheap-iphone so it can't be that bad.
I agree the initial upfront price is quite high but they seem to sell for £300+ on the auction sites.
But Vodafone dont need to know that - tell them you'll jump ship to 3 as they have a better deal and see what they say.0 -
Does anyone know if Orange are starting to give way on their retentions? I've read a couple of comments on here that gives the impression they dont seem to care if customers leave for the iphone elsewhere.
I've been a mobile customer for years and have my landline and internet with them...
My contract is up and I was going to switch to a rolling contract and get an iphone from Tesco when they come in stock. I only want a 12 month contract but would push to an 18th month contract if forced to.0 -
Anyone had any success with o2 retentions and iPhone 4 deals, at least in terms of price matching the Three deals? I've been with o2 for about 11 years now and am loathed to leave if I don't have to. That said, the Three deal is quite substantially better than the others around and I'll shift if I need to!
I am gonna phone up o2 as soon as my contract is up (9th Sept) and see, but would be good to know if I will be beating my head against a brick wall first! I can save myself some time and just ask for my PAC code instead!0 -
I spoke to Orange retentions last week and when I told them I was looking at the Tesco deal they said they couldn't match it and sent me my PAC code. I've been a customer of theirs since 1995.
My problem now is getting hold of an iphone 4 from Tesco, I feel like I know the staff in the call centre individually as I have spoken to them so often in the last week, they are mostly very pleasent but have no phones to sell! I live about an hour away from the nearest store with a phone shop so that's not really an option unfortunatly. Oh well I will just have to keep trying I suppose.0 -
I'm due for an Orange upgrade early Sep 2010, just rang them for an iphone 4 the deals are far too high, checked vodafone out and they are far superior in my eyes, Orange hang your head in shame, i've given them my 30 days notice....0

Just went into an O2 store yesterday on Cheapside in London and they had the iphone 4 PAYG BUT on their internal system it said specifically the iphone 4 CANNOT be unlocked! I queried it as on the external website it gave the impression that you can unlock all iphones after the initial launch date on 24th (I think) June. The guy in the store showed me their terminal (intranet I guess?) and I saw it said "The iphone 4 cannot be unlocked".... anyone else confirmed this? I remember I had an iphone 3G and they unlocked it for free after my contract ended so I assumed that what I read on the O2 website was correct which implied that ALL iphones can be unlocked!0
