LOL what a palava for a over hyped mobile, HTC are so much better & you get 2 flavours...Windows Mobile & Android, I used to think Andvoid was way off a few years ago but I am now starting to warm to the operating system as its come on leaps and bounds more than i-pohne development...Windows Phone 7 looks great, and yes I am a 3GS owner who uses my HTC Touch 3G, my 3GS is a glorified text send machine & a wifi browser at home, a bloody expensive one at that.
Then may I suggest you go to the HTC thread as this one is about cheapest iPhones, people here wish to discuss it's price not listen to someone bleating on about a phone they are not interested in.

So if Tesco and o2 are the same, if you have a Tesco iPhone can you use an o2 sim at the end of the 12 months?

Can't see any response to your question, did you get an answer?

I have a 3GS on Tesco, which I may switch over to O2 also.

I use the wifi a lot and O2 offer both BT Openzone and the Cloud, whereas Tesco is BT Openzone only.

From experience the Cloud would add many more hotspots for me.

Does anyone have an answer as to whether locked Tesco Iphone's will take O2 sim's?

Yes they will as far as 3GS are concerned, I've done it a couple of times, and then had O2 unlock them.

    Thanks for your response.

Could you elaborate a little I am interested in what you have said?
Can O2 unlock Tesco phones still within contract or do you need to wait until out of contract?

I am only 3 months into a 12 month Tesco contract and if I were to get an Iphone 4 would probably look to off load my 3GS on eBay.
Selling it unlocked now would obviously increase it's value.
Waiting for another 9 months for tesco to unlock it would no doubt mean its value decreases.

My understanding is that O2 will only unlock an iPhone once you're out of contract (or paid it up in full). When my contract ran out with O2 they just unlocked it when I submitted the form on their website.

Just out of interest ... I had a long chat with O2 retentions today due to the faulty iPhone4 that I subsequently returned and cancelled the contract. The purpose of the call was to request a PAC code so I could transfer. The person I spoke to was very helpful and tried to get me to stay however they have no incentives to offer, and I've been with O2 since the Ark !!

O2 do have new stock coming onto the stores this week by the way, probably weds.

Guess Ill just have to keep ringing

I went to my local Tesco and was told that most stores only got 3 iPhones on day of release.
They have none in stock and don;t know when to expect delivery.

  • Right Few Questions...

Been with Orange for 8 years contract runs out november on n85, however can upgrade on 18th of july.

Now im wanting the best / cheapest deal with 1gb data if not more, I was wondering if anyone has had any luck trying to quit with orange and then saying well if you give me a 500mb bolt on for nothing, along with my "loyalty bonus" hopefully get it down to £30 / £35 a month for 600mins unlimited texts then the 1250mb of data, with phone at £119. Anyone think this is possible???

Also with the 12months sim only contracts, what happens at the end of this 12months? Can you only be on PAYG, or after the 12months can you get cheap contract with a provider or won't they because it isnt "their phone" as such.

Any help on any of the issues above please help. :)

I want to get an iphone with 02, my current provider, especially as I recently got a cheap 02 joggler when they were selling them off . However, obviously Tesco will be a lot cheaper option for an iphone than 02. Does anyone know if I can I use the joggler messaging if I get my iphone with tesco since they use the 02 network? Many thanks.

Looks like 02 have cut their data allowance for all iPhone plans. No longer unlimited data, it's respective of how much you pay per month.
This makes 3 top the table for VFM. I cant post links but the info is on the 3 website.
With the Internet Texter 900 you get:

    • 900 minutes (anytime, any network)
    • 5000 texts
    • 1GB internet
    • 5000 Three-to-Three minutes
    • Voicemail
    Plus a free 32gb 3gs in white.
    Bargain I say.

Is this for existing customers only? I had a look at there site, and whilst I can find the plan, there's no iPhone to be seen.
