I have been trawling the internet for information on the iPhone 4 and how I can get hold of one with my current contract. Does anyone know what options I have... I currently have an Orange contract for £10 a month I got a new phone (not a very good one) about three months ago and my deal is 600 minutes, unlimited texts and 15 free picture messages per month. I was originally paying over £40 a month with Orange so when I called up they offered me a good deal when I threatened to leave their network. I am in the middle of a contract but would I still be able to 'upgrade' with the iPhone 4 considering I will then be paying bigger monthly bills? Also, I don't mind paying for the iPhone up front but then surely I will still need some kind of contract in order to receive internet access on it and continue to have allocated minutes and texts each month? I'm guessing I won't be able to transfer to another network because I am in the middle of a contract (not sure the length) and I'm no sure that I would want to join the Tesco network anyway!
Thanks in advance, I'd really appreciate any help with this :-)0 -

Yes, Tesco do piggy-back on the O2 network so their coverage is excellent. If I've helped you please show your appreciation by using the "Thanks" button

Has anyone had trouble ringing the Tesco number 0800 433 4994 to order an iPhone.
I just keep getting an engaged tone.

I tried ALL DAY yesterday and Tesco's were engaged every time. Ended up getting one from O2. Has anyone tried going to a Tesco Mobile store ?
p.s. sorry to burst anyones bubble however have to say I'm not convinced the iPhone 4 is that much better (in reality) than the 3GS with iOS4 software on it. The camera is a bit better, the display is a little better, etc ... its nice but not a quantum leap. Great piece of engineering though.0 -
I spent 20 mins redialling against the engaged tone this morning, then 35 mins in a queue to finally get through to a lady who took my payment and arranged to ship me an Iphone for tomorrow.. result!!
However, 1hr ago I got an email from Tesco Direct informing me that they'd cancelled my order.
I called the number and have been advised they have cancelled all order so far today due to a 'back end system glitch' and I was more than welcome to try a fresh order later today as they are still taking orders in the hope the 'glitch' will be fixed.
My worry is they'll presumably re-credit check me and that can only be damaging surely?
Anyone else had a cancel email from them that can confirm my findings?
Cheers

So if Tesco and o2 are the same, if you have a Tesco iPhone can you use an o2 sim at the end of the 12 months?Self confessed Florida expert

you are in new contract and its like only 3 months old, and if i remember correctly then you can't change your deal at when it is 6 months old.so if they can upgrade to iphon4 after 6 months for you then you are lucky.1st because you will have enough time to check all pros and cons on the iphone4 and 2nd you can come to a new contract and presumably the price would have gone down by that time. so the bottom line is be patient.that what i am doing.but 1st do call your network customer centre to confirm what their policies are,and also i heard on 15 july Motorola is launching its new phone, and its called iphone killer.so you will have time to see that as well.bottom line "wait"..............I have been trawling the internet for information on the iPhone 4 and how I can get hold of one with my current contract.
