Ummm, so you don't care about.....your iPhone lasting no more than a day before it needs charging......poor reception compared to most other handsets.....a camera that takes rubbish photos in low light......a design thats two years old.....your friends saying "oh wow, lets see your iPhone, oh, its the old one" lolHardcore moneysaver0 -
But he can tell his friends he got the cheaper old one, which is the main thing lol0

Hi all,
I have just go off the phone with 02 and they have no referbs left and the lady on the phone told me it could be a month before they get anymore. She did offer me a new 16Gb 3S for £72 on a £35 24 month contract.
I am now tempted to get my PAC and go to Tesco but I'm worried by the 500mb a month data limit. Has any one any experience as to how likely an 'average' user is to go over the allowance?
Many thanks.0 -
I was out of contract on my O2 iphone, so called in at Carphone Warehouse. I'm now on an O2 Simplicity tariff (non Iphone, actually a Blackberry one) with 600 mins talk time and unlimited data/texts for £15/month (12 month contract). If you get an Iphone specific one you only get half the talk time. Some tweaks to settings, a restart and away i go.0

hmmmmmm.
I took advantage of the amazing Quidco deal of £200 cashback on the 12 month simplicity for iPhone tariff which gives me 900 mins unlimited texts, internet, wifi and visual voicemail for £8.33 a month (after you take into consideration the cashback)
lets take the most recent retentions offer on here from stevob £27 for 24 months or £32 for 18 months with a free refurb 16GB 3GS with 500 mins and unlimted bla bla bla.......
27 x 24 = £648 (2 years locked)
32 x 18 = £576 (Year and half locked)
I'll pay £99.96 (12 months locked) for nearly twice as many mins. Lets say I bought a brand spanking new iPhone 3GS 16GB (not a refurb) from Apple, cost £449
£449 + £99.96 = £548.96 not bad for a brand new iPhone and only 12 month contract with 900 mins etc
HOWEVER all the above is just in theory, im a moneysavingexpert.......I had an unlocked iPhone 3GS 32GB which I sold three weeks ago for £599!! :j factor in my new £8.33 a month iPhone contract and my state of the art iPhone 4 will still work out cheaper than a retentions refurb deal lolHardcore moneysaver0 -

Thats an awesome deal mate, but you are not revealing the money you spent to acquire the 32gb 3gs.0 -
Thats an awesome deal mate, but you are not revealing the money you spent to acquire the 32gb 3gs.
Long story lol, but had a free Xperia X1 in Nov 2008 on an 18 month contract, went wrong tons of times so they replaced it with a brand new iPhone 3G and allowed me to keep my 40% subscription discount! Got the 3G around May 2009 and was getting 1200 mins, 500 texts and unlimited internet & wifi and only paying £27 a month. Had it replaced at an Apple Store before Christmas and got a "brand new" refurb, sold that for £280 then bought a brand new sealed 32GB 3GS from ebay for £407 (which i unlocked and just sold for £599!)
Outgoings £27 x 18 = £486 + extra £127 for the 3GS = £613
Incommings £280 (iPhone 3G) + £599 (iPhone 3GS) = £879
After 18 months then im up £266
Short answer to your question is not muchHardcore moneysaver0 -

Are there any problems doing this?
I'm in same situation and thinking of getting simplicity Blackberry 12 month deal for my iphone 3g as it's cheaper than iphone one. I'm assuming it will work fine in iphone (unlimited data etc), just no visual voicemail.Waddle you do eh?0 -
Hi
My contract ends this month and I called three to tell them i'm leaving because I want an Iphone they told me they could offer me one for being a loyal customer. They offered:
600 mins
Unlimited texts
Unlimited Internet
Pay £50.00 for phone
24 month
£35.00 a month
Is this a good offer from three has anybody got better from them? My initial thoughts are that I dont need unlimited texts and being tired up for 24 months is not great would Tesco be a better deal? Can you really haggle when its an Iphone and when 3 dont offically stock them?
Help would be greatly appreciated.0
