each to their own, but this time next month, it looks very likely the new iPhone will be out..

The problem is no one really knows if this is the case as apple never release any info, we could be sat here in 9 months time still saying the same things!

Yes I heard today that the 4G will be launched in December as they don't want it to co-incide with the iPad release here?

Like you say, no one knows for certain when it will be released. BUT, historically, Apple have always released new iPhone in June (or start of July), and as per link below, they're holding conference between June 7-11. As iPad will already be released then, I'm sure they'll want to announce something, especially as prototype has already been leaked.

The phone is locked to Tesco, but I believe it will work with O2 also (as that's who Tesco use as their provider). I unlocked the phone and am using it on T-Mobile.

how did you unlock it? through Tesco?

I got sick of waiting. I upgraded online on the 24month contract at £40pm. 16Gb Iphone free. Ill just downgrade after 9months. I have no patience.

I don't understand this - are you saying that it is possible to commit to a 24 month contract at £40 a month, get the free iphone, and then swap to a cheaper tariff after 9 months?

Sorry if I am being thick, but if that is right, I may be tempted...

Yes o2 allow you to change to a lower tariff. Here's the blurb from the page:

"New and upgrading customers on 12, 18 and 24 month contacts may not move to a lower priced tariff within 9 months of connecting to the Network or upgrading. After 9 months, you may only move down one tariff, per month, to the next lower priced tariff to the one you originally connected or upgraded to until the end of your Minimum Period unless you pay us the difference between the monthly subscription on your original tariff and the lower rate tariff we agree that you may move to. If you change tariff, any unused rollover minutes will be lost. With SIM Only tariffs, you can change you tariff after a minimum 30 days and a maximum of once per month."

    Hope that helps!

I've just called them as my contract ran out a couple of weeks ago, and my 3 year old decided to send my old Sony Ericcson for a bath this morning!
No refurbs in at the min, and no date!

Was this O2 chimpofdoom? And Retentions that you rang????

So I chanced it and rang back and asked him first if they had them in. He said yes.:j

But previous lady had said £35 per month for 24 months and free phone. He would only offer me £35 per month for 24 months and £89 for the phone!

I then said no point me being with them as my phone wasn't working, so cancel the contract. He put me through to cancellations, and my refurbished iPhone 3GS is winging its way to me now!:rotfl:

Cost me £1 for the phone, and she's also discounted the contract to £33 for 18 months!:rotfl:
