My son-in-law is coming to London from the States. Could he buy an unlocked iPhone for me there? They are much cheaper in the US and I'd like to take advantage of that!
Not only are they only on contract, but they are only sold locked to AT&T with no provision for unlocking, there are only a few countries where the iPhone is sold unlocked (Hong Kong, Australia, South Africa, France, Italy & Belgium).====0 -
What do you guys think to the Tesco Mobile network?
I am looking at getting an iPhone on Voda or Tesco, but heard that Tesco's coverage and internet speed is slow?0 -
Not sure if this was a good deal but I accepted it as it was the cheapest way for me to get an Iphone.
O2 upgrade, Iphone 3G 16Gb black refurb £25 a month for 24 months and £89 for the phone. I still had three months left on my contract but they let me upgrade online.
Three days ago when I rang O2 I was quoted £40 a month.Cashback earned
Quidco : £858
Pigsback : £20 and a Beatles CD.0 -

My Mum is with Tesco Mobile and has had no problems with it, if that's any consolation.

They had reconditioned 16GB 3GS handsets in stock on the o2 website last night, but it wouldn't let me upgrade online. I called the upgrade line and apparently the stock is different for the two, and they were out of stock to order over the phone.
I used one of the webchat boxes to talk to an advisor online though the website about how I could upgrade online - they couldn't help me but credited me £10 to my account as a goodwill gesture without me even asking for it.... it hasn't got me an iphone but at least i now have a tenner towards it!!
Moral of the story... complain through a chat box to make some quick cash!0 -

Dont knoe what to do about mine now.. i had the same issue with o2 and the 3g being sent, but no way would they budge on the 3gs... instead they gave me, £60 good will gensure, and reduced my tarriff from £40 to £25, and given me 600 mins instead of 300... so do i push for the 3gs or keep quiet as ive got a reasonable deal?

loopy_lass, it completely depends on your own personal needs - as the 3g is nearly two years old now and isn't fully compatible with new software upgrades that are coming in the summer. If you don't need what the new software upgrades provide you (multi-tasking for one) and the speed doesn't bother you, then is it worth sticking with the 3g? How long a contract have they given you for £25 a month? If you're happy with the £60 goodwill gesture, reduced tariff (nice reduction, I must say) and the extra minutes - then stick with it, no one here can tell you what to do otherwise if you're perfectly happy with what you've got.
However, I didn't have to push to get a 3gs, it was just immediately offered to me by the advisor I got through to (after she'd spoken to her manager) - I'm not sure if it was because they could see all the previous problems I've had with them on my records that made them do that... But (and this is my own personal opinion and I'm not trying to sway you anyway) - I do maintain that if you asked for a 3gs - and it was them who messed up and gave you a 3g instead. It was their mistake so surely they should stick with their word and give you what you asked for as a valued customer! It is entirely your decision, loopy_lass, only you can decide whether you're happy with the offer you've been given.
Another thing that o2 customers might want to know, especially if they have upgraded to iPhones - make sure your insurance is correct. I had previously been paying £7.50 per month for insurance for my previous phone, and this was not removed when I'd ordered my iPhone through Retentions. Apparently their 'bog-standard' insurance doesn't cover the iPhone. I was told by my advisor that the iPhone insurance through o2 is £15 a month!!! She highly recommended to me getting an insurance policy elsewhere or adding the phone to my contents insurance (which I have done). It's just something to check out, as it wasn't flagged up during my upgrade and you could be wasting £7.50 a month for so called insurance that is actually useless with an iPhone. Hope this helps someone.

Even if your existing phone insurance does cover the iPhone you still need to supply the insurer with your new model and IMEI number or you may not be insured.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

hi thanks for reply, im very happy with what ive got to be honest, the speed is fine, i really only wanted an iphone because i wanted one ;-) ... i dont want to rock the boat for them to say you can have the 3gs but we are taking away all the other offers we applied to your 3g contract. As its about saving money for me the way it is seems the better deal..,
Im on an 18 month contract btw...
