I am with 3 and was offered this IPhone deal last week.

    £27.00 per month
    700 mix and match minutes
    unlimited internet
    £99.00 for phone
    24 month contract

It came today and they have improved the offer to

    £27.00 permonth
    700 mix and match minutes
    unlimted internet
    free phone
    18th month contract.

It has arrived and I am wondering if this is a good contract before I finally commit myself

How long have you been with three? I received a call from them today and they offered me the 3gs for £229. For that I would be tied down to a 24 month contract @ £35pm. 700mins 150 text and unlimited internet.

The deal offered to me sounds very poor?

all contracts have a cooling of period usually 2 weeks where you can returned the phone regardless if its been used
Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.

Are you sure?? Distance selling regs allow seven days for net and phone purchases, no requirement with an in store purchase AFAIK: I was therefore surprised (and pleased) at what I was told in Tesco.

I have been with them for about 5-6 years. I did call them once the phone arrived and said I was still considering it and they improved the offer as per my post. Worth calling them and seeing if you can get a better offer. Strangely I had a cold call from three last night asking me if I wanted to upgrade to a new phone and when I said I had just got a new IPhone he practically called me a liar and put down the phone.

    I was on a £25 a mth tariff

But did you get a phone with it? My OH thinks that I was able to do it because I had SIM only contract so they are effectively not loosing anything by leting me have the Iphone and pay higher tariff.

It's arriving today:T, I hope they won't change their mind when I call them to register it or when I get my first bill and find out that they charged me for the remainder of my contract!!

Just a quick random and probably slightly off topic question....

Thinking of getting an Iphone from Tesco on their £35 12 month deal.

I am currently PAYG on Three and can use the phone (INQ Chat 3G) to connect via a USB cable to my netbook, then I can use the included free data allowance to connect to the internet.

Is this possible with the Iphone on Tesco Mobile?
Is there a cable to enable the phone to be used effectively as a 3G dongle?
If not can the Tesco Mobile sim card be removed and put in my unlocked Huwaei dongle?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

This is discussing the O2, but I suppose Tesco might have something similar... Or jailbrake it as one of the guys suggests (risky though).

    Thanks.

Just reading through the smallprint of the Tesco T&C's...
    • If you start to use your Apple iPhone SIM in any device other than your Apple iPhone or if you use your Apple iPhone SIM to connect to any mobile network other than the Tesco Mobile network, we reserve the right to suspend or cancel the Unlimited Pass, having attempted to contact you first.
    • You must not (nor may you permit any third party to) use your SIM Card in any other device or use your SIM Card or Apple iPhone to allow the continuous streaming of any audio / video content, enable P2P or file sharing or use them in such a way that adversely impacts the service to other Tesco Mobile customers.
Might not be that good an idea!

I might keep the 3 PAYG for use just as a mobile dongle!

That is why I said it's risky.
I doubt any network will let you misuse their data.;)
They want to sell you broadband and mobile data separately.
  • Hi,

Can anyone please advise on the cheapest way to get hold of an un-used PAYG 16gb iPhone 3GS?

I'm currently on a fantastic pay-monthly SIM deal that i can't get anywhere else (that includes web) and don't want to give it up to start a new contract.

    Thanks
