  • The insurance is a mind boggling £15 a month

Best to check with your household provider to see if its covered

If not its sometimes cheaper to change companies and find one who will provide it.

The policy may be dearer but compared to your current insurance provider and O2s £15 rip off May be cheaper overall.

Watch out for companies advertising iPhone insurance seperately a lot of the policies (including the companies Martin encourages in his article) have lots of get out clauses, most if not all do not pay on loss of phone and are generally worthless.

    Hope this helps

I would really appreciate some help please.

I'm currently with Vodaphone, but out of contract so free to switch. I would like an I-phone and it looks like O2 is the best deal?

This package looks the best option for me -

    3GS 16GB
24 Month contract, 600 free mins, unlimited texts and data
    £35 per month

1- On the O2 websaite in the small print it says
''data useage whilst roaming not included''
I called and asked them about this, and they advised me that just means whilst abroad. Therefore it is umlimited net useage anywhere in the UK
    Is that correct?

2 - Does anyone who how much their insurance is per month?

    Thanks

I'd probably note that it might be worth holding off until summer to see if apple release a new iphone. Rumours are they will and traditionally they have..

No point taking a 24 month contract and being stuck with the old model.

I thought I'd pop in and report on my experience of getting an iPhone in store at Tesco. Very impressed as was there a good hour and a half, nothing was too much trouble, very knowledgeable staff who are not on commission so no slimy sales patter or being talked down to. :D

Not sure if I should be posting here but does anyone have an answer to my question:

I have an iPhone on O2 pay monthly (I think it's an iPhone tariff). I'm thinking of selling it and buying a different phone, such as the HTC. Can I use my O2 sim in a different smartphone?

I have unlimited data and unlimited wi-fi. Will I still receive this if I put my sim card into a different phone?

Yes it will work as long as the phone you buy is unlocked

hi what does everyone think to this? as per my post some time earlier, i was offered a reasonable deal with an iphone but i needed time to look at my budget before committing ... sorry sad i know, but its more of a want than a need, but i do use my mobile instead of house phone. Anyway...

ive just phoned them back to try it on again, the guy offered me... 16g iphone free, free bluetooth 600 mins and unlimited text, wifi and internet on 18 month, for.... £28.... dont mind if i do i said ..... ok thats all done for you, i asked the guy to email me confirmation when he said oh hang on... ive got that wrong, it will be £32 per month for 24 months to get what you want... i said i couldnt afford that so he cancelled my order ;-( gutted...

    any ideas?

Bit of a tough one, you could try calling again and try it on with someone else.

Say you were offered it for £28 for 18 months, if they say no and do the £32 for 24 months, you could play them and ask for your pac, see if that forces their hand a little? Worth a shot I guess!

just called retentions (202 from handset) said i wanted my pac as i was fed up of being messed about, relayed above story... she said, i can do you 3gs 16g refurb free, free headset, 600min 1000 text unlimited wifi and internet 1 yr warranty for £28 a month for 18 months.

ive got 14 days to change my mind, and i can lower my tariff after 9 months (not sure if thats the iphone tariff) she also said if i loose my phone then they would change me to a normal tariff at the same price unless it was after the 9 months and then i can lower it too.

Ive accepted and await my phone!!! do people think this is a good deal?

gulp at the thought of that comittment, but worked it out i pay £21 a month for simplicity, and pay around £100 for a new phone which i need now. so the difference over tthe 18 months is £130 ish which is just over what i would pay for new phone.

Also my computer is about to pack up so at least i can do my emails from my pghone.

Seems like a good deal to me!

Quite surprised they didn't say the phone is out of stock, i've asked over two days and they've knocked me back.
