Akthough technicallyit didn't as they offer the 3gs when available, which is only 8 (?) months old,but I understand what you're saying...
Orange kind funkd up with the iPhone, bigged it up,but it's just pointless getting it on their extortionate contracts0 -
Apologies if this has been covered further up and I've missed it, but with the unlimited text messaging change to O2's tariffs, would I be right in thinking that effectively also means unlimited picture messaging?
No. The unlimited SMS just means SMS now. They now charged for MMS and texts sent from abroads. Only those with the old tariffs can still send MMS and texts from abroad out of their allowances.0 -
WARNING!!!
I just upgraded online to the O2 Simplicity iPhone package of 1200 minutes (£30) and unlimited Text and Data (£5) a saving of £10 a month.
I got a confirmation email and then a few minutes later a text stating that I was no longer on an iPhone tariff and that I would have to pay for web access.
I phoned customer services, (who were very helpful) and she said the order had come through as a standard Simplicity tarrif, she changed it for me and was going to notify the web people as she didnt need the greif of 1000's of people phoning up at the end of the month when they've been sent data bills.
So just be carefull, if you got the same text then call to ensure your on the right tariff0 -
Phoned o2 retentions last night to be offered free 16gb 3GS with 900 mins, unlimited text and internet for £32 a month. They didn't say how long it would be for.
Sounds like not a bad deal, got it through my gf who has been with them since December 07 and still has the same phone from back then. Only thing she's concerned about is not having free o2 to o2 as most of her friends are with them.
Was told by o2 that if unlocked, you would need the new sim to have unlimited data as the iPhone uses a lot of internet. Is this correct?
Phoning back to tonight to confirm or deny....

If it's for 18 months that's one hell of a deal!
Curly_lou I'm assuming your talking to upgrades not retentions?
Edit: PS - yes LT, that is correct, as the iphone is an "internet centric" device, it would require an unlimited tariff to go along with it! But as they are readily available, you don't have a problem with choice!:exclamatiTo the internet.. I need to complain about something!0 -
i have 2 months left on my contract with orange..
been offered iphone for £89 1 off payment, £31.50 p/m 600 mins t/t unlimited txt, free broadband in house ( from existing deal, get it for life as long as I'm with orange)...wont tell me if the £89 will come down if i wait 2 months..anyone any inside knowledge ??0 -
Hi
I spoke to retentions. Is anyone getting told the 3gs refurbs are in stock?????
ARGH!

i think my 28 a month for 18 months is a hell of a lot to be honest. i can buy a touch screen phone for 100 and keep paying my 20 a month.
am i being tight? but as jobs are i dont know where ill be in 18months time, possibly sat on the dole with an iphone ;-)
