Where do i see the costs for the tesco deal. In the article it says £220 up front then £20 for 12 months. Might be interested in this, then dropping to a simplicity £15 per month sim.

Can't see anywhere on the tescos site to find this deal though. Just £440 odd PAYG

It was the 3G. Given that I've never used a 3GS before the 3G will be fast enough.

Thats the same as me. I wanted a 3gs but was offered a 3g so took it.
After having it for 3 days i can honestly say that its more than quick enough for me. Using wifi makes it very quick indeed.
I got the same deal as you too but for £30 instead of £35.

    UPDATE:

    Just spoke to Orange retentions...

For those people that currently HAVE a loyalty discount on their Line rental (I have 10%)... this WILL carry over onto iPhone contracts if you ask them to keep it on.

They ALSO now do a £40/m with £199 for the 32 3GS giving 900 mins 500 texts. making it £874 over 18 months if you downgrade from a £40 to a £35 after 9 months.

    Hope this helps some people.

    Hello all,

Following Martin's email today, I was wondering if anyone could tell me more about 'unlocking' the iphone at the end of your contract. I am currently on Orange and would like to stay with them, so my questions are...

Can you 'unlock' your iphone on Orange as well as O2?

And are there any other deals anyone's found on Orange that vaguely resemble the 02 SIMplicity package?

    Thank you in advance.

i wouldn't have taken that-its unlimited texts now on o2 and 3g handset is 3-4 years old!!

No it isn't! Your sense of time needs working on big time! The 3G isn't even 2 years old yet. It came out July 2008.

I dont think the 3g is that slow at all. Ive got a 16gb 3gs and oh has a 16gb 3g and apart from the lack of video and a compass there is no difference. We have sat and compared them and can find no reason not to have the 3g .
My oh has had iphones since they came out and had the chance of a 3gs but would have to wait for the refurbs to come in or pay £59 for a new one, but as he had his last one stolen he needed one fast and opted for the 3g, he has no problems with it. He loves his i phone and gadgets and would be the first to admit if he felt he should of waited for the 3gs. I even offered to swap him as I want all that bothered which one I had and he declined.

Not everyone needs the latest version to be happy. Especially when a slightly older one meets their needs. If someone has just got the 3g and is happy with it I dont think its fair to make them feel as though they were silly for not waiting.

  • If I were to take this out and get the 16gig Iphone free for £45 a month - 24 month contract, would I be able to "downgrade" after a certain amount of time? If so, how would I go about it?
