  • Hi Guys,

Just as an update on this...

I got a 32GB Refurb 3GS iPhone in black yesterday from O2 retentions.

    18 month contract (600mins, 500texts, unlimited data/WiFi), 35 quid per month.

No upfront cost for the phone.

I'd been on O2 simplicity 15 quid per month for about 6 months (not high usage, given I never exceeded what I got for 15 quid a month).

Given my usage will fall within the 600mins/500texts, that makes the deal very favourable for me:

(Total 18 month outlay) (what i'd pay anyway) (net iPhone cost)
    i.e. 630 (18x35) - (18 x 15) 270 = 360

    ...for a 32GB 3GS.

    Happy with that.

Oh, and they're 14 day returns that are refurbished by Apple, so to all intents and purposes are brand new. Cheers for the heads up!

    R.

I also got this same deal today. It seems o2 will not give a reduction on the bill if you want the 32gb.

Hi everyone, this is my first post.
I am after upgrading my O2 contract on the 10th Feb. I have an iPhone and want to upgrade to the new 3gs which I thought was going to cost me buckets until I read this thread!! My quick question is how do you get to 'retentions'? Can you just dial 202 and then ask the sales people for retentions or do you need an excuse to get through?
    Thanks
    Stu

Call 202, then take the option for "thinking of leaving o2"

I just got a good deal with O2:
I still had 5 months left on previous 18 month deal but I phoned anyway. I was on a £15 per month contract with £150 credit so I got the first 10 months free, and I've only paid 3 months at full price (get in).
£31 per month for 18 months, 600 minutes, 500 texts, unlimited internet.
    free 16gb iphone.
I couldn't haggle down to £28 per month although it was all done on the one call so maybe if I'd left and phoned back, and insurance is normally £15 per month through a third part so no chance of adding that.
All in I'm quite chuffed with the deal, and iphone is one that's been returned under cooling off period and gets full warranty etc.

  • Hi everyone.
Looking at the iPhone myself. I've been with o2 for more than 7 years now mostly on PAYG but the last 6 months on £15 simplicity with the internet bolt on. But, I'm also with o2 for my home broadband. I was just wondering has anybody used that as a bargaining tool when looking for a discount?
Oh yeh, and is it easy enough to change the covers on the iPhone? as in from white to black.
    Thanks.

    Hi,

How did you get this deal and who with? I'm thinking of cancelling my Vodafone order.

i've not seen anyone get any deals on vodafone with iphone or even upgrade in general. their loyalty system and retention centre doesn't seem to exist, maybe best build loyalty with 02 and alike

Sorry O2 it was, but I've been with them 8 years and it was the retention deparment so not sure about new customers, but worth a try.
