Hi all,
Not sure is this has been mentioned anywhere in this thread, but I have had an iphone 2g for the best part of 2 years unlocked so I can use it on Tmobile. My contract with Tmobile ran out in October and I haven't renewed it knowing that iphones were coming to other networks, and wanting to keep my options open and upgrade to a 3gs, however Tmobile is by far the best signal where I live(deepest darkest North Norfolk) so I thought I was stuck with them, but it turns out that if I go with Vodafone and pay an extra £5 per month then I can make calls at home via my wifi connection, when I called tmobile and told them I was leaving because I wanted an iphone 3gs they said I could get one from them via a company called Chitter Chatter at a very good price, £178 for the phone, £30pm 18 month contract 300 mins and 300 texts with unlimited internet. I thought this was a good enough deal for me so I said yes, however when the phone arrived it was a black 3g not a white 3gs as requested, but it was I thought rather naughtily packaged in a open 3gs box! after phoning Chitter Chatter to ask them if they thought I'd come down in the last snow shower they apologised and sent me a pre paid return bag, and yesterday I posted it back, and now await hopefully the correct model and colour phone. In summary for me the deal is good but the hassle is not. If they don't get it right this time I will go to Vodafone and pay the extra £5 per month.0 -
Excuse my ignorance on this one
Is there an easy way to tell the difference between a 3g and a 3gs when you have them in your hand.0 -

Open an app at the same time. The 3gs will be way faster. No doubt there are easier ways of knowing though0 -
3GS has shiny writing at the bottom on the back, same as the Apple logo. 3G writing is not shiny.

I called tmobile to cancel my contract last month as I wanted an iPhone from Vodafone and they offered my one through Chitter Chatter. Picked up a 3GS with 800 mins, unlimited texts and unlimited Internet for £35 per month on 2 year contract. This was a no brainer for me as I was paying £25 per month for £180 of flext credit but I'm a heavy texter so was regularly using up the allowance and paying over £40 per month. I've been really happy with the iPhone. I wasn't prapared to pay the contracts that were on offer when exclusively with O2 but have got an excellent device for less money. If you've got a tmobile contract that's coming to its end worth calling them as I didn't expect to be offered oneon such good terms0

What was the cost of the phone?0 -
Just got off the phone with o2 retentions. I have been with o2 for 9 years so this probably affected the deal considerably, but I got a new 16GB 3GS for free on 18 month contract for £35 per month.
I said that it was cheaper for me to buy the phone from Tesco and go for 12 months at £20 (I'm not a heavy texter/caller but I use a lot of data), as the yearly cost would have been £560 and then I'd have an unlocked phone to use with any network. With o2 the first year would have been £609, but then I'd also have to do an additional 6 months at £35/month that I wouldn't with Tesco.0 -
I have been on o2 simplicity for 16 months and i was offered:
Refurb 16gb £35 a month tariff discounted to £33.
Refurb 32gb £35 a month.
New 16gb £35 a month.
All the phones would have been free but with the refurb iPhone's i was offered £7.50 a month insurance and on the new it was going to be £15. Does anyone know why the insurance prices are different?
They don't have the 16gb refurbs in at the moment so i'm going to call again in a few days. I'm also going to try and get it cheaper than £33 because others have on here.0 -
Good deal KG
Anyone answer this
I'm currently with O2 but through the Carphone Warehouse
Have i any relationship with O2 if i was to phone them (like will they class me as an existing customer)
Would the credit check be straightforward as i already pay them each month?
Do CPW just act as collecting agents on their behalf?0 -
Hi guys,
I have been with 02 for about 5 years (which could be why I got a decent deal?).
Yesterday I orderd a free refurbished white (I wanted white) 16gb 3Gs.
The contract is £27.54 per month & I get 600 mins, 500 texts, untld wi-fi & unltd O2 to O2 calls. I don't know if it is an 18 or 24 mnth contract but it might be worth mentioning the deal I got.
I didn't have to push for it I just called & said Vodaphone offer a much better £40 package than the £35 O2 package & the woman told me what she could offer me. She also offered a £40 package which gave 1200 mins, 500 texts, unltd O2 to O2 & free wi-fi on the same phone.
I thought the former offer was the best.
Hope this might help somebody negotiating a decent deal.0
