One trick which seems to be working for me is not to press ANY numbers once you get through to it as it seems if you do, you lose your place in the queue and end up being told the "high volume, please call back later" message.
So just ignore the options - don't press anything when asked to press 1 - and after a couple of cycles of the menu it will say "hang on, I'll get you some help" which will let you queue for the next available operator rather than being cut off.
Edit: yes, it worked - held for 25 minutes but eventually got through to a very helpful person and it's all now sortedHang on in there peeps, you will get through!

just got through on the 01355, was waiting 10 minutes and it took 2 minutes with the very nice lady to finalise.

I tried for 3 days without success
Then instead of trying randomy I sat down with my phone on speaker
dialed the 0845 number and put it in memory.
Then I dialed it.
a few times I got as far as the recording saying that they were too busy and to try again later and the line going dead
It's easy to give in at this stage but I kept trying.
Each time I went through the menu
Click 1 each time. you can even click it early and it skips to the next paragraph
I just kept at it re dialing everytime I got nowhere
You'll know if you've advanced to the queueing bit because you'll get music.
Dont give up at this stage because you're half way there
just hang on through it all and someone will pick up eventually
My last attempt took me 40 minutes in all so dont throw your computer out the window just persist with lots of patienceIWasLookingBackToSeeIfSheWasLookinBackToSeeIfIWasLookinBackAtHer.....0 -
Thank-you Guys for all your help, I had been relentlessly trying to get through to renew my claim, But kept getting the busy message and then cut off. Today was the deadline for renewing and I was in complete panic mode as I still couldn't get through. I read your posts and got the alternative number of 01355359007. I called this number and was only on hold for about 20 seconds and did not have to go through the automated system, The whole thing was completed in about 2 mins. Aparently the new experian identity checks are causing a nightmare for them, Which is understandable considering you have to create a password to contact them in future resulting in questions like (and this is not a wind-up) What is your Favourite food and what was your favourite subject in School.......LOL. I am delighted I got it renewed though, A big weight lifted off my mind......Thank Goodness for this site and Forum.0
