  • I can't believe I have over £10 worth of calls on my bill for calling the tax credits helpline:mad:

I don't suppose there is any way of claiming that back?:rotfl: I've just been made redundant and I'm skint!!

This is only because they keep you on the call for aaaages before telling you they are busy and cut you off! Wouldn't mind as much if I was cut off straight away grrrr

Send a letter to their compliaints department, including a photocopy of your phone bill, and ask to be reimbursed. I don't know if it will work, but there's no harm in trying.
  • Just rang today as I couldn't get through to the helpline (no. 03453003900). I was told that this number was for overseas customers only and to use the above helpline no.
  • After deadline but i finally got through today, waited ages going through messages to get same message i was getting b4 deadline, that they could not deal my call to try again, then i eventually got into a queue which took about 40 mins, they were ok about it and processed my claim, so if your still trying, keep at it your claim should still get processed the same.

Anyone struggling to get through to the Working Tax Credits helpline? I've been trying non-stop for 24 hours now and I always either get an immediate message telling me to call back another time, or I get through and get told I'm about to be put through to an advisor, *then* I get an automated message telling they can't deal with my call and to call back another time... !!!!!!, this is INFURIATING!!! Christ knows what my telephone bill is going to be... :wall:
