yes, my OH has been ringing on my behalf as i end up getting upset on the phone, he said he was told they were for overseas and was told off but we use them if the other number doesn't work. He got through first time on the 0845 number this morning

Martin was on Watchdog in the week and said that you should keep a log of each time you call (and for how long you hold) and if you were successful in getting through or not.... and if they come back to you in the future that you've not update your circumstances etc you can prove that it's not been for the lack of trying!

Nope i can't get through to change our address so think i am going to have to write in...

I can't use the overseas number as i got a right telling off last time i used it and also because i had supposedly dialled the wrong number she wouldn't put through the change in circumstances i was reporting which I later found out to my cost...

Just wish before they hang up on you they would tell you at the beginning rather than having to listen to their website address again and again...

NEH if you write to them get it sent recorded or you will probably waiting weeks and weeks to find out if they have received it like i am now!

I know it's an absolute shambles....That's what happpned to me as i said above i got told off for using the other number that everyone else has been using and then the woman obviously piddled off that i rang the wrong number, couldn't be bothered to register the change....It was only by chance that i had another change to report that i found out she hadn't bothered to do it...:eek:

thanks for the info. i've tried to ring another couple of times but had no luck so i've written a letter to post recorded delivery tomorrow.

I needed to report a change of circumstances today and thought that early morning during most peoples school run time would be a good time to try to get through.

I called at approx 8.50am and only had to hold for around 2-3 mins .

For anyone having difficulty getting through , try ringing at this time .

I called the tc line at around 8.50 this morning and was only on hold for 2-3 mins !

Seems that a lot of people would be doing the school run at that time of the morning ? Try it tomorrow , see if you have any luck before you post the letter off .

Ring when Corrie or Eastenders is on. A friend works for an MP and she says that's the best time to get through. Worth a try, probably not during the adverts though.
