Hello there
Really hot day here and both washing lines are full and the bread maker is on.
To everyone who was kind enought to vote for DD yesterday - the competition ends today and it is possible to vote a second time.
They are in fourth place and only about 20 votes to get to third!
Please, pretty please?
It would give them such a boost.

Morning Chums ,have been so busy the last few weeks . My eldest DD has gone off to Florida for three weeks with the family and I have been rushing backwards and forwards between her house and mine to house-sit every other day.
I have had my first Mammogram on my remaining boob, and it's come back clear:j so that perked me up no end. I have to see the oncologist this afternoon and she will sort out the drug therapy for me to take for the next five years, but I'm cool with that as it's worth it to be kept in the clear ,(fingers crossed)
Next week I see my surgeon to hopefully, be signed off after 14 months :j
So things are definitely looking on the up. I have signed back up for my CCS Uni course and am looking forward to that starting at the end of September.
The children are all on summer holiday from school now so Granny has been doing her bit towards keeping them happy.:D
We are all off to Sherringham for a week on the 9th August ,but so far have managed to keep it from my DD's five children They all think that there will be no holiday this year .We are going to tell them next Sunday at dinner, so if there is a huge shout from the Medway area around 5 p.m. next Sunday anyone who hears it will know what it's all about
My youngest DD has been doing summer cover on her two jobs, and yesterday was down at Chatham Dockyard covering the HMS Gannet as a tour guide .She came home absolutely exhausted as it was very hot on board but the extra cash will help towards the childrens treats She is working today down there in the Wooden Walls exhibit so at least she will be in the shade. She is such a little grafter and I'm so proud of her.
Well it is still hot and a bit stuffy again today I was hoping for some rain to save me watering my pots, but it doesn't look likely at the moment.Oh well time to get the watering can out and have a potter round my pots until lunchtime I think I will have a nice jacket spud and some salad for lunch then it's off to the hospital for the afternoon. Hope everyones enjoying the weather and <<hugs>> to those in need.
Take care all

KAAT-LADY
Just as well you explained who George was as your post was looking a bit racy!!!;)
Was about to get in the shower but DD has beaten me to it.
Am sitting here with a nice pot of tea - bliss!
DD now has 290 votes and is at 3.7 :j so she is willing the vote machine to count higher by sheer effort of will!"This site is addictive!"

The pier has gone LINKY
Donny-gal, I'm 37I don't feel like I can't cope, it's just that mr troo would prefer me different to what I am. 2008 was supposed to be 'the year of looking after me' - the kids are both out working, there's no-one for me to arrange things for or look after IYSWIM. So I was going to concentrate on me for a year, just take some time out, really. I've had much more time for OSing and generally planning things so on mr troo's day off we can go out without thinking about doing housework or having to get back for the kids coming out of school (ok the kids school bit would have happened anyway, cos of their ages!) but you get the general idea.
Maybe I've changed too much? And it seems gradual to me but almost overnight to mr troo?
Anywaytoday I've done 2 loads of hand-washing and there's some ironing to do. The animals can stay in the house, I put them out yesterday but it was too hot for them, even though they were in the shade. It's much cooler inside. Need to sweep the floor downstairs too.

Morning :hello:
I'll catch up properly later, just wanted to say hello
Have you seen THIS - very sadWe go to Weston on day trips a few times every year, it'll be strange without the pier.
Hi all - late on here today. That's 'my' pier! Weston was where I spent the first 28 years of my life and I'm devastated at what's happened. I've spoken to my Mum and sister and we're all so upset which sounds daft over a mere building, but it was a beautiful pier and has lots and lots of happy memories for us all including times we spent with my Dad who died when I was sixteen. We always lived within walking distance of the beach so all summer was spent either on the pier or next to it. Troo - that is such a sad picture, isn't it? I have great hopes that it will eventually be rebuilt because it's so important to the town and I'm sure the hoteliers and residents will pull together and bring it back to life. Weston must be a sad place today both for the residents and the holidaymakers.
Well, the weather here is lovely again and looks set for the day although it was such a hot night I didn't get much sleep even with all the windows open and the fan on top speed.
(((Hugs))) to Smoky, PenPin, Chrisca, AnnieS, Jayward, Pixie's LO, Candygirl's Dad and Essex-girl's Dad, too.
Churchmouse - :hello: :hello: :hello:
Welcome to Frugal Swan and MummytoJack - so glad you have joined us on the bestest thread!
Pippa - I have a husband like that and so do a few others on here. They hate it when your attention is not fully on them, don't they? It must be a 'man' thing but I don't understand it and it drives me mad sometimes!
Well, I'd better get some work done because I know I'll be flagging in the heat and because I'm tired. I haven't read all the thread - I just started with quoting Troo's post because it was to do with 'my' pier!
Will read the rest of the thread and will pop back later.
