p-pixie hope DS feels better soon. I know there has been a v&d bug sweeping certain areas of the country. I had it and even after I thought it had cleared, I felt quick sick and queasy on and off for quite a few days.

squiggly I've never made chicken stock in the slow cooker so can't offer any advice there. I normally use a large cooking pot and put some chopped onions and carrots and a bay leaf or two in with carcass then top up with water. I may start to use the SC if your's is a success. ;):D

Morning all... I do so hope you dont mind me joining in :)

I always read the daily thread.... So from now on I am going to try to join in with all you lovely people in hope that it will keep me motivated ;)

Well it is very hot here already... Cant stand the heat so..... Roll on the autumn!

Joined the summer 6 week makeover challenge last night so will start de-cluttering today when I get back from the highstreet as DH has to go Drs and whilst he is there I shall nip to the post office and post a few items then nip to Tescos and pick a new Kettle up as DH blew our old one up last night  Then when I am back its all systems go...I will transform myself into the perfect housewife... I wish! Well it might take abit longer than a day but I am hoping I will acheive my goal within 6 weeks :T

Anyway... Must start getting ready and get the WM & DW on their first loads and get the pressure washer out ready to clean down the patio...

Hope everyone has a lovely day :)

Annie, thank you - I've just discovered that I'd bunged the plate the carcass was on inside the (switched off) oven last night so cats didn't get it. Unfortunately I obviously forgot about it & it has been there all night.... :( I think I will poison us all if I make stock with it?!!!
I've got another chicken, so I'll definitely do it in SC & let you know how it goes.

Welcome Mummy2Jack & all other newbies as well - it's amazing how popular OS is getting!!!!!

Right, better dash, off for a cheer-up coffee with my mates.

    Morning all

I seem to be getting later  and I probably won't make it at all tomorrow as I am looking after DGD. We had a lovely BBQ with DS, DDIL (to be) and DGD, I can't believe she will be 1 in a couple of weeks, where did that year go  I asked who was looking after her on their wedding night, and guess who is

Work today, so have a joint of beef in the slow cooker, and the veg ready in the steamer. I might even turn on the Remoska for the yorkshire puddings - whatever would I do without all my gadgets :D

Haven't caught up on yesterdays thread, so hope everyone is OK. I believe Candygirl is going to be a grandma, so congratulations, it's wonderful :rotfl:

Have a great day everyone x

Morning all  hope you are all well. hugs for those taht need them

twink - glad your ds was okay
    candygirl - congrats to you
anniebl - glad you had a good holiday
    mummy2jack :)
squiggly - I do chicken stock in the SC - I just throw the carcass in with some odd bit sof veg (normally things like celery leaves and brocolli stalks) and leave it over night - covered with enough boiling water to cover everything. Then I just strain it and skim off any fat if I can see it. It's alweays worked fine for me (well, if OH leaves the SC on - he has a habit of switching it off as he thinks I've forgotten to do it  ) freezes fine.

I made chicken soup and cheese bread yesterday - I was going to make some more but realised the hard way that sr flour doesn't work... Doh. that'll teach me to cook when I'm asleep.

Today is my first day in my research groups witness protection scheme :D Dr Jeckyll isn't allowed to hassle me and I find out today where I'm going to be working. Should be interesting. :) He's in Oslo today anyway, so I'm safe for the time being :) Still, TBH, I'm glad to be back at work because my building is air conditioned and I really don't get on with the heat. I was virtually catatonic all weekend until the sunset - which isn't nice for a morning person.

I've just eaten my lunch. This is why I hate taking sandwiches to work. At least if I have to go and nuke it it will survive until lunchtime :rotfl: Might start on the chocolate next :D

Have a good day all, cel x

    morning all,

Not so hot here today, and in fact we have just had a shower of rain, it was quite nice. I need to try and get the lawn done later, got dd's bedding on the line, will do ours tomorrow, its really quiet without her here, although OH and I are enjoying the time on our own ;):D

Going to shove the chicken in the oven in a while, hopefully before it gets too hot, will do it with new pots ang veg. Also need to do an online shop.

Squigly, I think they have the flowery kidtson bag in our Mr T still, next time I go I will have a look and grab you one if they are still there.

Twink glad ds is ok, he is very lucky xx

Haribo, hope all goes well today xx

    Hugs to all today xx
