I dunno just a woman then the manager didnt catch his name im sorry
but u can call up and ask for a manager and get there name, i have 2 letters written out ready to be posted again
Better to understand a little than to misunderstand a lot.0 -
I wonder if there is any organization out there that this can be reported to? I know with broadband you can reoprt it to the TIA. If they were not so sneaky about this i wouldnt bother as i was more than happy with my contract, i just despise sneaky compnaies who change terms and then deny any impact. I know there are now a large number of post appearing on vodafones own forums that are subsequently been closed by the admins, i know two of mine have been for posting links to other furoms such as this.
maybe there is a law relating to freedom of speech i could use.....0 -

:rolleyes: No, of course not - please don't resort to the typical MSEer response of "you don't agree you must work for them". I was simply stating that the rules they're talking about (10%) don't seem logical because so many people would fall into this, or could manage their calls next month to make sure they would (i.e. take advantage of Vodafone's slackness in using a rule like this).
I'm trying to get to the bottom of what clause they've broken - I might even try and cancel myself if it's that easy. I've just re-read post #19, which I originally thought referred to 3's contract, not Vodafone's. That seems clearer, rather than clause 8 which you kept referring to.0 -

Fair enough. I'm getting very confused now. Clause 8 is what you've been writing to Vodafone about (post 31) referring to monthly charges. Whatever clause was quoted by MoscowFlyer in post #19, is what Voda seem to be referring to as a means to cancel next month IF your bill goes up.i) we increase in the United Kingdom and under clause 7a, call or other usage charges which have the effect of increasing your call or other usage charges by more than 10% or the increase in RPI calculated as in 8a above (which ever is the greater) based upon your previous call or usage pattern;
So I don't think raising the call rates on their own is enough for anyone to cancel now (because it doesn't come under clause 8), whereas MoscowFlyer's clause may be a cause to cancel but depends on how Voda calculate your previous usage pattern by the looks of it.0 -
That was copy and pasted from another user to be used as a template the only section i quoted was number 7,didnt no that was number 8, vodafone have admited its a breach, they are going to cancel it, no harm now is there ? just emans people can leave and go for a newer fone sumwhere else or wateverBetter to understand a little than to misunderstand a lot.0

I know, but the basis of them saying 'if your bill increases by >10%' doesn't seem to be the clauses that you're arguing your case on, which specifically only mentions monthly tariffs.
This bit must be wrong then -
You may end this Agreement immediately by writing to us if:
• during the Term
i) we increase in the United Kingdom and under clause 7a, call or other usage charges which have the effect of increasing your call or other usage charges by more than 10% or the increase in RPI calculated as in 8a above (which ever is the greater) based upon your previous call or usage pattern;
but it's impossible to make that comparison now because the change hasn't
happened.
It has happened as it is based upon your previous call or usage pattern;
So what clauses are Vodafone admitting they might be breaking?
The jist of the argument is- if your call part of the bill (tariff+out of bundle use) will go up by more than 10% then it's bye bye Vodafone.
On a £35 per month contract you will have to be out of pocket by over £3.50 and you are sorted.
That's only 35 calls to a mate that you hang up when it reaches voicemail without leaving a message- remember out of bundle calls the minimum charge goes from 5p to 15p.baldly going on...0 -
yup - I was serious in what I said... it's a cheap way out...The thanks button is here to the right. If you find a post saves you money, gives you useful information, or you agree with it, take a second to thank the poster!

It worked for me.
At first they point refused, then I sent a letter saying ofcom told me that I had a good case against them (which they did) and asked for a deadlock letter so I could proceed the complaint through Ofcom. A few days later I got a call and they closed my account there and then without penalty (saving me £450 in line rental) and getting to keep my N95 8Gb (which i sold for £150)
A week later the same manager called back and said I was entitled to a specail offer of
new phone, same contract was on 600mins unlimited texts, internet for £10 a month for 12 month contract. - took it as my brother needed a phone.
Im with 02 myself now on iPhone0 -
do you know the manager you spoke to? if w had a name we can all use your example to get out of contract0
