Afternoon all! Holidays in full swing here, I can tell cos all 3 dd's have assorted friends staying and ds has pitched a tent in the back garden for him and his mates so he can escape the girls!
HM pizza for lunch, dough just rising in BM, they can all then choose their own toppings. Must make some more hobnobs as well, they go fast even when you only let them have one each!
dd1 has hoovered, dd2 has cleaned out fridge and done DW, perhaps it's not so bad having them around after all, I've done lots of tidying! Made some fairy cakes with dd3 and several of her little friends in the village, just letting them cool at the mo then they can all decorate them this afternoon.
Was hoping for a picnic on the beach, but woke to thunder so hope that we will get to go next week, quite warm just very overcast.
Hope that you all have a good day xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Afternoon all, have been trying to post since 8.30, but life keeps getting in the way! Sorry to hear about your cat, Gingham Ribbon, and hugs to all in pain / need of comfort.
French Day here in the Cupier Household, so croissants and jam for breakfast, Q&D (quick and dirty) french onion soup with HM french bread and cheese for lunch, savoury crepes for tea. Minors have already had a run round the garden shouting bonjour at each other; Minor #1 conducted a football session with the other two in a silly french accent; going reasonably well so far.
Going to be another scorcher, so beds stripped and washed, first lot on the line. Done a spot of craft, now letting the children flop in front of the TV while I get lunch on. Don't the presenters on CBBC spout an awful lot of drivel? Going to go over to DVDs only if it doesn't improve markedly soon.
Off to town this afternoon to buy Minor #3's friend a birthday present, and Minor #2 wants to sort out his schoolwork folder and clean and tidy his bedroom. Must be Born Organised, that one, certainly nothing like me!
Off to stop the soup burning now.

Hello everybody :hello: . Back at work today - heat in office 90 centigrade...... one small fan and one window able to be open. Back still tres sore - last night it was really wierd. I was lay in bed about 2.30 chomping antacids when my source of pain goes kind of fizz fizz pop....... obviously not audible but the feeling of that - strange. Anyway, today had my "return to work interview" so they can basically tell you how awful you are for taking doctor's advice and being off.
I have got my 2nd formal review next week so I have contacted the union to go with. Don't really know what they can say - I'm having problems, I'm under the care of consultants and am having further investigations.:wall: Presumably they would prefer it if I sat at my desk crying in pain - well that's stupid because we all know they would...... Anyway, I am half tempted to fling my notice at them in the meeting. I really am feeling very weary with the whole "justify why you're in hospital again" fiasco. The only saving grace is that I will probably be on my own in the office for most of next week as two of my colleagues are on holiday and the other one works 2 days. So I will be applying wildly for jobs (one sent off today!). Managed to do some washing last night though - hand stuff which I can dry in the bathroom quite easily on the line I have rigged up. Apart from that nothing very OS done. Sold some more stuff on e-bay :j so will be parcelling that up tonight and posting tomorrow. Probably have to do the supermarket sweep tonight. Anyway, I'm off for another antacid! Oooho delicious
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0 -
Afternoon all.
GINGHAM: Hugs & healing thoughts for your poor cat. I honestly think the thugs that do that sort of thing should have the same done to them, and see how they like it! Grrrr:mad:
FIZZEL: Sympathy re the mouth ulcer. I get them a lot, and have found Anbesol to be good. It stings like the very devil when you first apply it, but it numbs the area and helps the ulcer to heal.
Molly Dog is here for 10 days :j She belongs to a friend of Mr LW; I love having her to stay. She's a 3 year old black labrador, and a lovely natured little lass.
Mr LW has decided he needs some new reading glasses, so I've been to the D&A website to see if they have any special offers. We were painting some pewter figures for "Dungeons & Dragons" at the weekend, and he was having problems seeing. An expense we could've done without, but eyesight is important.
I'm debating whether I have the energy to make a chocolate mousse for tonight's pud - I have a recipe that includes fresh rosemary from the garden, and is delicious. Unfortunately I can't meal plan like a lot of you do, as what we have very much depends upon my energy levels at the time.
Have a good day everyone, and a Wolfy hug for whose who want/need it.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
