good to see you back PP.
well had hair done. looks nice but it took ages. was a new girl at the salon I go to, and it was only after she spent ages putting in the highlights that she dropped the little bombshell she'd only been qualified since october....anyway she took ages, but have to say I like what she has done. would ask for her again.
sorted out my tax credits, think I might slip in under the top limit this year (must check if its changed) so maybe I'll get the higher amount this year. would be nice because I am losing some child benefit in september.
had a look in wardrobe and found top which will do for night out tomorrow. so saved some cash there which is just as well as after what my hair cost and the car tax I could do wtih saving some money.x x x0 -

I'd make soup with the sweet potato and carrots, a couple of spuds and an onion. You could have the chicken breasts in a mushroom sauce with mash or chips?May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

Quick question....OH has just picked a nice bowlful of blackberries from next door neighbours garden and wondered how much I would need to make crumble or pie and how to do it. They are hanging over our garden, so technically not stealing but he is going to ask in the morning if we can pick some more as the oldboy shouldnt mind. How long do we stew for etc and we also have a few small apples from our front garden...can I just stew these with them to make apple and blackberry
Have done 3 loads of washing and has been hung outside since we got home and have another 2-3 to do.

I have managed to lose 8lbs but it is slow going, I am a member of Murphy`s no more pies club, they are very supportive and we all weigh in once a week. I have read some of Ted`s posts, he is a very interesting and knowledgeable guy.

Well just managed to read the thread properly - Gingham I think that's outrageous. I think certain people should be punished by being given a taste of their own medicine....... (ever the lenient soul
- you can see why I worship Gene Hunt now!). Well, when I got home a top I got off e-bay and my jigsaw had come - also one of the scan dates (Brain - 10.08.08 - A SUNDAY  ). Unburdened myself to Mr Rage who was his usual stoical self and then had a good laugh at a wood pigeon trying to eat out of the bird feeder (making quite a good job as well actually!) The Union bloke can't make the HR meeting so they'll just have to change it (they're always saying it's for my benefit). Actually Mr Rage was not impressed as they gave me short notice the last time. Also got a Summons for non payment of Council Tax for 2004 - which I have the bill for saying "all paid"!!! Attend Court? Me? - I think NOT!! Besides technically the Summons is not for me as they have spelt my name wrong.
Spoke to a bloke at the Council who said he can't understand why I've got it!!! Glad to know my Council Tax is being used efficiently..... Mr Rage wants to take me to the local for dinner as I'm so fed up...... I'm tempted.... they do make a lovely veggie burger.....
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0 -

I'd bung all the veg in the slow cooker with plenty of stock (and maybe some coconut milk and curry powder if you want to spice it up a bit.)
If you want a quick meal with the chicken, you could fry an onion, chop the chicken and add it to the pan with the mushrooms and a tablespoon of curry paste and serve it with rice. You can add some tomato puree if you want a bit more sauce - or cream.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
Hi all, I am so pleased with my OSing today, y/day amongst a load of Y/S meat I bought a gammon hock at £1.20, simmered for 2 hours. The meat just fell off the bone and there was enough to make 3 large quiches (gammon, cheese and mushroom) sarnies for 2 days and loads to put in the pea soup. I have kept the water for a stock. Made 2 chick, leek and mushroom plate pies (1 for DD2 and OH) and a casserole for 2, re-rolled the surplus pastry and using a glass tumbler I cut out 12 circles, cooked them and froze them, I will use them to top a stew making it into a beef cobbler. 24 chick thighs for £4, 1kilo mushrooms from market £1, leeks YS 89p. Did soup, made crepes filled with strawbs (YS 50p)
Was cleaning outside windows with DH when a friend asked what were we using, I said 'vinegar' he then went home and brought us 5 gallons of it, he pickles food and some of it was out of date.
