Quick question....OH has just picked a nice bowlful of blackberries from next door neighbours garden and wondered how much I would need to make crumble or pie and how to do it. They are hanging over our garden, so technically not stealing but he is going to ask in the morning if we can pick some more as the oldboy shouldnt mind. How long do we stew for etc and we also have a few small apples from our front garden...can I just stew these with them to make apple and blackberry:confused:

Have done 3 loads of washing and has been hung outside since we got home and have another 2-3 to do.

Blimey its early for blackberries, I love them, I would stew them and the apples up in a pan with a little bit of water and enough sugar for your taste, I love it a bit tart, once done put them in an oven proof dish, and cover with crumble mix,put flour, and butter in a bowl, mix together to make sort of buttery breadcrumbs add some sugar ( i use brown ) and some cinamon, put it over the fruit, with a sprinke of sugar and cinamon, and bake. Delish enjoy xx

    Hello!! :hello:

I've committed the cardinal sin of not sticking to my list in tesco and buying far more than I intended, and now I don't know if we'll get through it all (plus there's not much freezer space). I don't know if it's because it's a friday (i usually do a weekly shop on sat morn, i've decided to try fri after work instead) and maybe my head is a bit full. Or maybe because OH's DDs are with us for longer (sat to tues) so I need to have more food in and I never know what they want (they're a bit fussy).

We've got a new (to us) suite for the conservatory for £50 from someone OH knows. OH had to take it's feet off to get it in!

I've had pork steak (reduced in tesco) for tea. No housework done - i class the shop as housework for tonight. I've opened a bottle of my laithwaites wine - had a bit of trouble getting to it - I'd "hidden" it in the garage and since putting it there the garage has been filled up with the old furniture from the conservatory! Still, nothing was getting in between me and my wine!:D

Off to read what you've all been up to. Have a lovely evening everyone.

Phew, I'm shattered. Usually clock off at 4 on a friday, but had to stay til 6 today - they probably would have asked me to stay til eight but I did not hang around long enoughto give them chance!

Not much planned for this evening, might go to tesco as want to pick up some collapsable crates to sort my cupboards out, and maybe do an inventory.

Put my draught excluder on my letterbox yesterday and it really does make such a difference.

Hope ou all enjoy the rest of your evening

Oooh PP, don't want to be a damp squid, but technically you are stealing. You have the right to cut off the overhanging branches, but legally you are supposed to give them and the attached fruit back.icon9.gif I'm sure your old chap won't mind, but best to ask, as some people can be sticklers for the *correct* way;) Apart from that, my goodness how early are they? Especially as it's been a rubbish summer so far. Perhaps that's it, the bushes are convinced it's autumn already:rotfl: :rotfl:

I'd stew the apples and just add the blackberries towards the end, because I like to keep them quite whole. I've used apple and blackberries to make the infamous cobbler recipe, and they work brilliantly. Lightly stew the apples, but don't bother to precook the blackberries. Yummy.:D

And that's as OS as I've been for the past couple of days, so I'll take my leave.:p

Hugs to those in need. CMx

Welcome home PP - we missed you - sounds like you had a nice time - sorry about the hossy visits though

Well mr Caring sharing managed to turn up on time for the travel letter witnessing .... and magnaminously offered to pay the five pounds fee. it turned out to be a fiver for each signature so he has now asked me for my half  ROFLED when he mentioned that he phoned the passport office to find out how quickly they oculd do his passport and found they're on strike - I told him that the day before yesterday but of course I know nothing. I then had to hang about at work till gone six to make sure that he'd picked up dd and gone - twice in one day would be too much :D I did call dgs to see if he fancied picking his old nana up from work but he said "mmmmmm no thanks nana - I'm vewy busy today" - well life can be very demanding for a three year old can't it.

well I am going to celebrate my home aloneness by clearing out some craft stuff and cleaning the hall to start painting tomorrow - do try to contain your jealousy of my exciting life
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

I missed some birthdays this week, so belated birthday wishes to Snowy, Taplady and Haribo, and anyone else I've missed.

Happy anniversary to Mr & Mrs Beemuzed!

Blairweech - very pleased for your good news!

Gingham - what an awful thing to do to an animal, those sort of things make me very sad.

VickyA - have a lovely holiday, wish I was going too! I went to NZ when I was 18 but want to go back some day, it's so beautiful you'll love it.

Fizzle - I was going to recommend salt water too - not that I've tried it, I can't bring myself to! OH swears by it though, actually he says to put salt straight on the ulcer but I guess thats difficult when it's at the back of your mouth. I'm very interested in Redruby's kiwi tip, I'll be trying that when I next have one!

Just finished watching the proposal on corrie, I'm so soft I get emotionally involved with them! Or maybe its the wine.....:rotfl:Had to watch it upstairs though, sky+ is already recording 2 programmes and for some reason normal tele wasn't working downstairs. Going to watch the celeb masterchef final when OH gets back. First though I really should tidy the kitchen from tea!!

    Good night xxxxxxxxxxx
