More to the point,,,,,I started my 3 contract at the end of August and I got my auto cheque back a week ago from CPW,,so thats about 8weeks in total.
Its still worth cancelling as you havn't paid much out after all and you will get to keep the handset.
You can then go and take out another contract (even port your 3 number with you) get a free handset and sell one of them...Che ching ££$$$.
Just cancelled mine, took out in August and already have £160 cashback from e2save.
I may try to claim the £53.33 from my November bill and see what happens!
It was 14 months free (18 months contract) £30 per month for 18 months.
Only paid out, or due to pay out £15 x 4 (maybe 4.5) so in profit without the last cashback.
Hopefully e2save won't reclaim the £160 instant cashback on the rubbish LGU8120 (never yet completed a call without dropping it!).
Fancy a SE k750i on Orange, or maybe Vodafone.
EDIT: First 6 months free by Network.
£160 + 3 x £53.33 = £330 cashback in total, plus £90 in reduced line rental.
EDITED AGAIN : 14 months free, not 15 !0 -
Thanks very much just managed to cancell it phew thought I would have to end up paying it till next year.0

How did you manage to cancel the contract with e2save? I have two 3 mobile contracts as the phone i got with the august contract has broken. If i can get out of it i will, but i was under the impression that you had to pay up to e2save for the remainder of the contract if you cancelled. Any suggestions or ideas greatly appreciated.0

The contract was with 3, not e2save. Presumably no clawback on them since it was 3 who varied the terms of the contract.
Glad to be out of it even if I have to repay the £160 as the network was appalling (or maybe the LG U8120).
Back to Orange. I now know you get what you pay for.0 -
Just finally managed to get some semse out of a 3 customer service bloke who spoke good english and must have been located in the UK. They offered me a £10 goodwill gesture but said they didn't know anything about people getting £5 a month off line rental.
Only got 3 months left on my contract and would never have cancelled anyway because I would lose more by not getting the cashback. Plus I love having my 500 minutes so everyones happy now!

I just rang 3 to cancel my contract and they said I can't because it's been over 30 days and I had a letter sent out on the 17th October, but I never received a letter. Is there anything I can do about that?
I have six months left on my contract and the man said I can cancel with a charge of £50, I thought they would charge me 6 x £30 = £180 because I have six months remaining?0 -

I never received a letter, I rang them a few days ago and they said I can't cancel it been over 30 days because I should have received a letter on the 17th October 2005. I told them I never and they said its the postal services fault and I cannot cancel so I put the phone down, rang back spoke to someone else and they said I could cancel, so I cancelled.0 -
i never recieved a letter either, only just found out about it here. just rang them up said they would charge me for all the months i hadn't used (quoted some absurd figure) as it was too late. surely as they havent contacted me then it is within 30 days still from the day i find out about it?0

i cant believe it i have now spoken to like 4 operators and they have basically told me 2 get lost! Its totally wrong! All i can say 2 people who r experiencing similar problems is e mail watchdog, i dont know if its a trading standards matter!? Iether way 3 have informed me that it isnt costing me a huge amount but its the principle of the thing, and the fact there customer services people r so dam rude when im being super cool and polite! Its just wrong and totally unfair!0
