not sure about shoes but for stinky trainers, try cutting a potato in half and placing half inside the trainer near the toe and leave overnight. Not sure why it works but I do this to mine.0

I used to make my son who had very stinky feet, leave his trainers in the coal shed on the way in. Didn't cure the smell, but at least I didn' have to smell it !Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

I tried washing my smelly trainers in the washing machine, then when they were dry spraying some Dettol green disinfectant inside and letting that dry,so far so good, but after visiting a foot specialist and feeling embarrassed at the pong coming from my trainers, she suggested that I wash my feet, dry them properly including between toes and wipe over a weak solution of formaldehyde (6%) to stop excess sweating, before going to bed and then washing them again in the morning. This has worked a treat, as the sweat causes bacteria to build up in the skin and can cause athletes foot. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DONT USE THIS IS YOU HAVE BROKEN SKIN!!!! You need to speak to your local pharmacy and ask them if they can get the 6% solution of formaldehyde, they will probably charge what a prescription costs, for a bottle of 500ml, but this will last ages, just dab some on a cotton wool ball one for each foot, and apply say every 3-5 days. After using it a while you can increase the time in between when you have to use it, so with regular use it can be used once a week or less often. Cheaper than shelling out for new trainers, and gives you peace of mind that your feet don't pong (priceless!!!)And yes the lady in the avatar is me

ok guys, easiest way to avoid smelly shoes is sort out the minging tootsies in the first place.
before you diss this info, as stupid and ridiculous as its gunna seem......please give it a go. you WILL feel silly, you WILL NOT tell anyone you are going to do it, BUT you WILL get fantastic results. it works ten times better than the stuff on the chemist shelf that costs a fortune, while this will cost a fraction of the price.... anyone out there interested?
