I inherited whiffy feet from my Dad! To keep my trainers fresh I put them in the washing machine every so often, they come up like brand new!

Another one I use for hubby's trainers, which are totally disgusting, is a few drops of lemongrass essential oil sprinkled on insoles. Works a treat. If you don't fancy going that near them, suppose you could always mix some lemongrass with water in a spray bottle, and spray away from afar! ;) Also you can substitute tea tree or citronella essential oil for lemongrass.

once trainers start to niff, they need to be washed, Its bacteria that cause the stinky smell and once back on the feet in the nice warm damp conditions they start to smell and reproduce at an alarming rate. A bit like the waynes and waynettas of this world. ;)

I stick my sons trainers in the washing machine and they come out fine  even the leather ones.

I consider myself an expert on this subject seeing as how I lived in cyprus for 2 years with a soldier who had to wear big black boots and desert boots (they were easy, sink hot water Vim) in 100% heat !!!!!
The DMS boots were not so easy. ;D

    ahhhh memories!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

  • Spray a strong bleach solution inside (be careful not to get any on the outside in case it damages the colour) then put on a rubber glove, then an old sock over the glove, and use your hand to work the bleach in. Leave for 30 mins or so then rinse with a damp sock and allow to dry.

This is a drastic solution that shouldn't be used too often as it could damage the leather.
