Unfortunately the 08006943328 number is now not working, hopefully these calls are their last gasps for breath!

    UPDATE_another call
just had another call today .
Caller said they were calling "about " my sky tv.He began by asking to speak to the account holder. He did not give a company name.
He launched into his spiel ,I had.. to be very loud to speak over him to ask him which company he was from.
He said Systemguard Limited.Again,he asked to speakto the account holder.
Again,I told him I don't have sky here..
Their companys house address is apparently a "virtual office" whatever that means.
I did 1471,no number was left.

It's linked to satellite direct, but as they didn't leave their number the second time,I guess they can just deny it was them.Even if they have told Watchdog they don't do cold calls..

I live near Brighton and have batches of this in the past and have had several calls this week. I usually talk all over them and tell them I don't have Sky until they get fed up and put the phone down

We changed from BT to Virgin Media last November - we were supposed to keep our existing number but, well that's another story - anyway we got a new number but every week we get calls asking for a woman who doesn't live here. We assume she is the previous line holder but now it is getting to the point where we've had enough! We have registered with TPS but because these companies already have this number for this woman then I don't see how we can stop them calling other than saying we don't know her, please don't ring this number. Capital One call for her at least 2/3 times a week. We have asked them to remove our telephone number from her files but they have ignored this. Yesterday I finally blew my top when they called again (OH took the call). I called them back at their indian call centre insisting on speaking to a manager, and had a right go at them and insisted they remove our number or I would report them for nuisance calls. They promised to remove our number but we'll see. Today has been quiet so hopefully they have finally got the message. Has anyone else had problems like this, and if I did need to report them for nuisance calls where would I go? Thanks.

Where else would you report nuisance calls? To your telephone provider of course!

We have recently been getting quite a number of calls from some place call Global Capital, at least I think that is what they are saying.

We are registered with TPS so we shouldn't get these calls. We have repeatedly told them not to phone again but still they do.

Even one day when the person they asked for (they always ask for same person) was not in they continually said "I'll call back later" even when I told them not to, on and on they went!!!

Just wondered if anybody else knows of this company and is being pestered by them too.

Why not just say, "Speaking" and decline whatever they offer?
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
